ApsaraDB RDS:Manual renewal

Last Updated:Mar 28, 2026

Manually renew a subscription instance before it expires, or within 15 days after expiration, to extend its service period.

Pay-as-you-go and Serverless instances do not expire and do not require renewal.

If you don't renew

Failing to renew a subscription instance on time can result in service interruption and data loss. For details, see Effects of an overdue payment or expiration.

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

Handle locked instances after renewal

If a subscription instance is locked due to expiration, it is typically unlocked and restored to the running state within 5 minutes after renewal. Refresh the page to check the status.

If the instance fits a legacy instance type and remains locked after renewal, submit a ticket for technical support. After the instance is unlocked, upgrade it to a current instance type as soon as possible.

What's next

To avoid repeating manual renewals, enable auto-renewal for your subscription instances.
