Quick Audience:Self-service Analysis Overview

Last Updated:Aug 06, 2025

The self-service analysis function is connected to Quick BI Data Visualization and Analysis Platform Professional Edition. This feature allows you to perform Ad Hoc Analysis on audience in Quick Audience, assisting you in conducting flexible data analysis on the population on your own. During self-service analysis, you can select new audience in the report to compare the data performance of different audiences on the same metric.

Note

The system automatically creates a workspace with the same name as the current workspace on the Quick BI side, and configures the same data source and workspace members for data interaction.

Self-service analysis role permissions

For the self-service analysis feature, two new roles are added to the Workspace Role List:

  • Self-service analysis-developer: has the permissions to perform audience configuration and self-service analysis, and has the permissions to create and manage self-service analysis datasets.

  • Self-service analysis-Analyst: has the permissions to perform audience configuration and self-service analysis, and only has the permissions to view and edit self-service analysis datasets.

In addition, administrators (workspace administrators and organization administrators) have all permissions related to the self-service analysis feature.

Self-service analysis process

  1. The administrator has imported data tables and filtered out audience from the imported data tables. For more information about how to import data, see Data Import. For more information about how to filter audience, see Audience Filtering.

Subsequent self-service analysis will focus on the audience and analyze it based on the imported data. User tag tables, user behavior tables, order details tables, order summary tables, and statistics tables can be used for self-service analysis.

  2. Purchase Quiclk BI Professional Edition. Only the Professional Edition supports ad hoc analysis.

    Note

You cannot connect Alibaba Cloud Independent Deployment Edition to Alibaba Cloud Basic Edition. You can purchase a Quick BI based on your Quick Audience deployment.

  3. The organization administrator configures Quick BI Authorization Configuration to authorize Quick Audience to use the ad hoc analysis capabilities of the Quick BI.

  4. The administrator configures self-service analysis, selects the data source table for self-service analysis, and connects it to the Quick BI. For more information, see Self-service Analysis Configuration.

  5. The administrator, self-service analysis-developer, and self-service analysis-analyst configure audience. Then, the administrator, self-service analysis-developer create a self-service analysis dataset to specify the audience and data range for self-service analysis. For more information, see Self-service Analysis Dataset.

  6. For more information about self-service analysis by administrators, developers, and analysts, see Self-service Analysis.
