Quick Audience:Self-service Analysis Dataset

Last Updated:Aug 06, 2025

Before performing self-service analysis, you need to configure audience and create a self-service analysis dataset to select the audience and data range for self-service analysis.

Audience Configuration

The administrator, self-service analysis-developer, and self-service analysis-analyst configure the audience, write the user QAID and other information of the audience to participate in the analysis to a audience table, and synchronize the information to the Quick BI side.

The same workspace shares the same audience table, and the Quick BI side will have permission information. When the analyst analyzes, non-administrators can only analyze their synchronized audience, and administrators can analyze all synchronized audience.

If the number of audience to be analyzed has increased or decreased, or the number of audience has been updated, perform the synchronization again.

Procedure

  1. Choose Workspace> User Insight > Audience Insight > Self-service Analysis > Self-service Analysis Dataset List, as shown in the following figure. image

  2. In the upper-right corner, click Audience Configuration. image

  3. In the dialog box shown in the preceding figure, select the audience that you want to synchronize to the Quick BI side.

    • The left side shows optional audiance. Non-administrators only show their own created audiance and public audiance. Administrators show all audiance.

    • The right side initially displays the audiance that have been synchronized last time. Non-administrators only display the audiance that have been synchronized by themselves. Administrators display all the audiance that have been synchronized.

By default, the same audiance will be synchronized this time. You can click the cross next to the audiance name to stop synchronizing this audiance. After you select a group on the left, the audiance on the right is added as the audiance to be synchronized this time.

    • The last synchronization time is displayed below.

  4. Click Update and Save to synchronize the audience table to the Quick BI.

In this case, closing the pop-up window does not affect the synchronization task. After the synchronization is complete, a message "Completed" appears.

Create a dataset for self-service analysis

Note
  • Before you create a dataset for self-service analysis, you must configure Self-service Analysis Configuration, select a source table for self-service analysis, and connect it to the Quick BI.

  • Before creating a dataset for self-service analysis, you need to configure the audience to be synchronized to the Quick BI side.

A self-service analysis dataset refers to a collection of analysis object data in self-service analysis.

Administrators and developers create datasets for self-service analysis, define the data range for self-service analysis, and associate the user QAID field in the audience table with the user QAID field in the data table to obtain the data of users in the audience during analysis.

The following section describes the basic configurations for creating a self-service analysis dataset. For more information about the advanced configurations, see create Quick BI Datasets. You cannot select a data source, upload a file, delete a table, perform row-level permissions, or perform cross-workspace replication.

Procedure

  1. Choose Workspace> User Insight > Audience Insight > Self-service Analysis > Self-service Analysis Dataset List, as shown in the following figure. image

  2. Click New Dataset in the upper-right corner to go to the dataset configuration page, as shown in the following figure. image

The data table list on the left side displays the audience selected in the Self-Service Analysis Configuration section and the name of the imported table. When you move the pointer over the table name, the name of the audience or the alias of the imported table is displayed.

  3. Drag the audience table that you want to add to the dataset. The table name starts with qa_audience and contains all the audience that are synchronized in the audience configuration, as shown in the following figure. image

The following figure shows the drag-and-drop operation.

  4. Drag the import table to be added to the dataset to the right of the audience table and associate it with the audience table, as shown in the following figure.

You can associate multiple import tables with the same audience table. Drag and drop the import tables to the right of the audience table. The import tables are arranged up and down. image

As shown in the following figure, the system selects Add All Fields to enter the dataset by default, and uses the user's qaid field to form an association between tables by default.

qaid is the unique identity of a user. after the association, each user in the audience can obtain the user data in the association table.

Click OK. The dataset is added to the dataset and associated with the dataset, as shown in the following figure.

  5. To compare the data performance of different audience on the same metric, you must set the audience_names field to multi-value, as shown in the following figure.

The audience_names field stores the names of all audience to which a user belongs. The same user may belong to multiple audience. After you set the audience_names parameter to multi-value, these audiences can obtain the data of the user and participate in analysis.

  6. After you drag and drop the tables to be added to the dataset, click Save in the top toolbar. In the dialog box that appears, enter a dataset name and click OK. image

Manage self-service analysis datasets

The created self-service analysis dataset is added to the self-service analysis dataset list, as shown in the following figure. image

If you select Only My in the upper-right corner, only the datasets that you have created or edited are displayed in the list.

Click View or Edit to go to the dataset configuration page. The dataset configuration page displays the dataset configuration. You can also modify the configuration in the same way as when you create a dataset.
