Drive and Photo Service:Differences between company spaces, team spaces, and personal spaces

Last Updated:Dec 08, 2025

This topic describes the differences between company spaces, team spaces, and personal spaces in the Enterprise Drive user interface.

Company space

Note

The Developer Edition does not include a default company space. You can create teams and spaces as needed.

Feature description

After you purchase the Enterprise Edition of Enterprise Drive, a root team with the same name as your organization is created by default in the Management Console > Team Management. A space is configured for this root team and serves as the company's dedicated space.

Resource management

  • Super administrators and drive administrators in Enterprise Drive have full data operation permissions for the company space by default.

  • Regular users in Enterprise Drive have only preview permissions for data in the company space by default.

  • Store only public files, such as employee handbooks and public information, in the company space. For internal department files, such as project materials, create team spaces to allow for fine-grained management.
