Microservices Engine:Release a cloud-native gateway instance

Last Updated:Mar 11, 2026

To stop incurring charges for an idle Microservices Engine (MSE) cloud-native gateway, release the instance to permanently delete it and all associated data.

Important

Releasing an instance permanently deletes the instance and all associated data. This action cannot be undone. Before you release an instance, make sure that all APIs on the instance are decommissioned or migrated to another instance. Otherwise, the release may cause service interruptions.

The release method depends on your billing model:

Billing modelRelease method
Pay-as-you-goRemove the instance from the MSE console
ServerlessRemove the instance from the MSE console
SubscriptionUnsubscribe from the Expenses and Costs console

Release a pay-as-you-go or serverless instance

  1. Log on to the MSE console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select a region.

  3. On the Gateways page, find the target instance. In the Actions column, choose More > Remove Instance.

  4. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.

After you confirm, the instance and all associated data are permanently deleted.

Release a subscription instance

Subscription instances cannot be released from the MSE console. Instead, unsubscribe from the instance in the Expenses and Costs console. For detailed steps, see Unsubscribe from a subscription instance.
