A basic bandwidth plan provides bandwidth for data transfer over the Internet and Alibaba Cloud's internal networks. If you purchase a Global Accelerator instance with the pay-by-bandwidth metering method, you must also purchase a basic bandwidth plan and associate it with the instance.
Basic bandwidth plans do not support data transfer between the Chinese mainland and regions outside the Chinese mainland. For cross-border acceleration, purchase a cross-border acceleration bandwidth plan in addition to the basic bandwidth plan.
What you are charged for
Subscription basic bandwidth plans have one billable item: bandwidth fees. No other fees apply.
Global Accelerator charges bandwidth fees to accelerate content delivery over Alibaba Cloud's global transmission network. The fee depends on two factors:
Bandwidth limit: the maximum bandwidth provisioned, measured in Mbit/s
Bandwidth type: basic, enhanced, or premium — each type covers a different set of acceleration regions and is priced differently
To view the unit price for each bandwidth type, go to the Global Accelerator Bandwidth Plan buy page.
For the acceleration regions covered by each bandwidth type, see the "Bandwidth types" section of Purchase and manage basic bandwidth plans.
Billing cycle
The billing cycle is the subscription duration of the plan (UTC+8):
Start: the exact second the plan is purchased or renewed
End: 24:00:00 on the expiration date
Bills are generated on the first day of the calendar month following the end of a billing cycle. The system determines the exact issuance time.
Billing formula
Basic bandwidth plan fee = Unit price of the basic bandwidth plan (USD per month) × Bandwidth limit (Mbit/s) × DurationRefund policy
Subscription is prepaid — you pay the full fee when the plan is created. If you no longer need the plan, cancel the subscription and request a refund. For details, see Refund policies.

To purchase and associate a basic bandwidth plan with your Global Accelerator instance, see Purchase and manage basic bandwidth plans.
If your business requires cross-border acceleration between the Chinese mainland and regions outside the Chinese mainland — including China (Hong Kong), China (Macao), and China (Taiwan) — purchase a cross-border acceleration bandwidth plan and use it together with your basic bandwidth plan:
For billing rules, see Subscription cross-border acceleration bandwidth plans.
For purchase and association steps, see Purchase and manage cross-border acceleration bandwidth plans.
For the impact of plan expiration or overdue payments, see Overdue payments of bandwidth plans.
