This topic describes the refund policy for Global Accelerator resources.

Refund rules

Refund rules for Global Accelerator resources

Global Accelerator instances and basic bandwidth plans are cloud products that support partial refunds. The following table describes the refund policy.

Subscription

When you purchase subscription-based Global Accelerator instances and basic bandwidth plans, you pay in advance for the selected subscription duration and instance type (for Standard instances) or bandwidth. If your business needs change and you no longer require these resources, you can request a refund.

Conditions for unsubscribing

  • Global Accelerator instance: No bandwidth plan is attached, and no acceleration areas, listeners, or endpoint groups are deployed.

  • Basic bandwidth plan: No Global Accelerator instance is attached.

Supported cancellation types

There are two types of unsubscriptions: unsubscriptions with partial refunds and cancellations of pending renewal orders. Before you request an unsubscription, make sure that you understand the relevant refund rules. For more information, see Unsubscription Rules.

Downgrade

If the instance type of your Standard Global Accelerator instance or the bandwidth of your basic bandwidth plan exceeds your needs, you can downgrade them in real time if your account has this privilege.

A real-time configuration downgrade may result in a refund. The refund amount is calculated by subtracting the price of the new configuration from the remaining amount of the configuration price before the downgrade. For more information, see Resource downgrade refunds.

Refund method

You can request refunds for subscription-based Global Accelerator instances and basic bandwidth plans in the Global Accelerator console or the Expenses and Costs console.

Before you request a refund, ensure that you meet the refund conditions and have completed data migration.

  • Prerequisites for unsubscribing from a Global Accelerator instance:

  • Conditions for refunding a basic bandwidth plan:

    Make sure that no Global Accelerator instance is attached to the basic bandwidth plan. If an instance is attached, you must detach it first. For more information, see Detach a basic bandwidth plan.

  1. Log on to the GA console.

  2. To navigate to the Unsubscription Management page, use one of the following methods.

    • Method 1: Go to the Alibaba Cloud Expenses and Costs console from the Global Accelerator console

      On the instance list page, find the target Global Accelerator instance or basic bandwidth plan. In the Actions column, click the More > Refund, or click Refund.

      Note

      To refund a Basic Global Accelerator instance, in the navigation pane on the left of the Global Accelerator console, choose Basic Instances to go to the instance list page.

    • Method 2: Go to the Alibaba Cloud Expenses and Costs console from the top menu bar

      1. In the top menu bar, choose Billing > Expenses and Costs.

      2. In the navigation pane on the left of the Expenses And Costs page, select Unsubscribe Management.

  3. On the Subscription Management page, unsubscribe from resources.

    • Unsubscribing from resources (in use)

      1. On the Unsubscribe In-Use Resources tab, set Product Name to Global Accelerator_Instance Type (Subscription) or Global Accelerator_Basic Bandwidth Plan (Subscription), and click Search.

      2. Find the target Global Accelerator instance or basic bandwidth plan, and in the Actions column, click Refund Resource.

      3. On the Unsubscribe Resources page, select or enter a Reason For Unsubscription, select the confirmation checkbox, and click Unsubscribe Now. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the unsubscription.

    • Cancel a pending renewal

      Note

      For renewal orders that have already taken effect, see the rules in Refund a resource in use.

      1. Click the Cancel Renewal Period tab. Set Product Name to Global Accelerator_Instance Type (Subscription) or Global Accelerator_Basic Bandwidth Plan (Subscription) and click Search.

      2. Find the target Global Accelerator instance or basic bandwidth plan and click Cancel Renewal in the Actions column.

      3. On the Cancel Renewal page, select the New Expiration Time. Then, select the confirmation checkbox at the bottom of the page, click Refund Now, and follow the prompts to complete the process.
