Lifecycle inventories track the inputs consumed and emissions produced during the production process. Configure inventory items to record activity data for lifecycle assessment.
A lifecycle inventory lists the inputs required for production and the resulting emission outputs. Inputs include raw materials, consumables, energy, resources, packaging materials, and transportation. Outputs include waste gas, waste water, and solid waste. On the Lifecycle Model page, click Add Input or Add Output to add an inventory item.

Configure the basic information of inventory
For each inventory item, specify the type, name, quantity, unit, and data source. The quantity refers to the input or output activity data. Enter explanations and remarks in the Notes field. Click Upload voucher to upload supporting data files.

Configure the activity data
Enter the activity data (quantity) by using one of the following methods: Enter manually, Get data item, and Calculate quantity by formula. Hover over Input method of quantity and select a method.

-
If you select Calculate quantity by formula, you can define custom parameters and a formula to calculate the activity data. You can also reference existing calculation schemes or parameters. For more information, see Calculation scheme and parameter management.

-
If you select Get data item, the activity data is sourced from data items, typically used when online data is collected through API calls. For more information, see Data management. Ensure that data items contain data during the data collection period of the model. Otherwise, model calculation fails due to missing quantity values.
