A lifecycle model consists of four key elements: product information, production stages, production processes, and lifecycle inventory.
A product carbon footprint model consists of the following key elements:
-
Product information: Specify basic product details and the elements required for lifecycle assessment.
-
Production stage: Stages are determined by the assessment boundary: Cradle to Gate or Cradle to Grave.
-
Production process: Define the major processes for producing a product and assign each process to the appropriate stage.
-
Lifecycle inventory: Inventories capture the inputs and outputs of each production process.
