The product carbon footprint (PCF) tool in Alibaba Cloud Energy Expert helps you calculate, manage, and report the carbon footprint of your products across their full life cycle — from raw material acquisition through final disposal or recycling.
A product carbon footprint (PCF) is the total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions — direct and indirect — generated by a product over its life cycle. The life cycle spans raw material acquisition, manufacturing, packaging, distribution and transportation, product use, and final disposal or recycling.
The Energy Expert PCF tool is built on ISO 14067:2018 (Greenhouse gases — Carbon footprint of products — Requirements and guidelines for quantification) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. It supports data collection, PCF modeling, PCF calculation, results analysis, data quality assessment, PCF report generation, and results sharing, designed to provide a one-stop online PCF service.
How it works
The tool covers the complete PCF workflow in five stages:
Collect data — gather activity data for each life cycle stage of your product.
Build a PCF model — define system boundaries, allocate inputs and outputs, and structure the model to match your product's life cycle.
Run the calculation — compute total GHG emissions across all stages in compliance with ISO 14067:2018.
Analyze results — run data quality assessment to validate inputs and assumptions.
Generate and share the report — export a standardized PCF report and share results.
Access the tool
Open the Product Carbon Footprint module in the Energy Expert platform to view, create, and manage your PCF models. Each model provides online functions for data collection, modeling, calculation, analysis, and report export.
