    Subscription requires you to pay in advance based on the selected subscription duration. EMR Serverless Spark calculates the price for the billing cycle strictly according to the duration you purchase.

    Scenarios

    Subscription is mainly suitable for the following business scenarios:

    • Long-term stable usage: When you expect to use the product for a longer period with relatively stable requirements, the subscription model can provide a more cost-effective solution. For example: long-running Spark Streaming tasks, or Kyuubi and Livy services that need to be deployed for a long time.

    • Clear budget planning: For users with clear budget planning, the upfront payment model can help you better control costs and avoid uncertainties caused by usage fluctuations.

    Billing rules

    The total price of a subscription quota for a single workspace is: Computing resource CU quantity * Computing resource unit price * Subscription duration.

    Important

    The subscription duration in this formula is measured in months. Please refer to the final bill for the actual settlement amount.

    For example, in the Singapore region, the computing resource unit price is USD 32.21/CU/month. If the subscription quota for a workspace is 100 CUs with a subscription duration of 6 months, the subscription quota fee for the current workspace is 100 CU * 32.21 USD/CU/month * 6 months = USD 19,326.

    Billing cycle

    The billing cycle for a workspace subscription quota is based on the duration you purchase (based on UTC+8 time). The starting point of a billing cycle is the time when you activate or renew the workspace (accurate to the second), and the endpoint is 00:00:00 on the day after the expiration date.

    Renewal policy

    If you want to continue using the subscription quota after the current billing cycle expires, you can do so through the renewal operation. For more information about renewal, see Renewal policy.

    Note

    • If you do not renew in time, tasks submitted to subscription payment type queues in the workspace will stop running. To avoid affecting your business, make sure to renew in time.

    • If your account has an overdue payment, automatic renewal will be affected. You need to recharge your account and manually renew.

    Refund policy

    Subscription quotas require upfront payment based on the purchase duration. If you no longer need the subscription quota due to business requirement changes, you can unsubscribe through Expenses and Costs. For more information, see Refund policy.

    Resource scale-out

    After purchasing a subscription quota, you can increase the resource quota based on your business needs to expand resources. For more information, see Edit subscription quota.

    Important

    • More favorable discounts are available when you purchase a subscription for one year or longer.

    • If there are other promotional activities that cause price inconsistencies, please refer to the actual price on the purchase page.

    Edit subscription quota

    1. Go to the EMR Serverless Spark workspace page.

      1. Log on to the E-MapReduce console.

      2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose EMR Serverless > Spark.

    2. On the Spark page, select image > Upgrade Subscription Quota from the Actions column of the target workspace.

    3. On the EMR Serverless Spark Reserved Resources | Upgrade/Downgrade page, increase the CU Quota based on your actual needs, and then click Buy Now.

    4. Follow the page instructions to complete the purchase process.

    5. (Optional) View quota information.

      In the Subscription Quota column on the Spark page, you can view the quota information you purchased.

    6. Use the subscription quota.

      You can add or edit resource queues to allocate the subscription quota to the corresponding queues. The purchased subscription quota is allocated to the subscription queue by default. To make adjustments, see Manage resource queues.
