    Subscription is a prepaid billing method where you pay in advance for the selected duration at the time of purchase. EMR Serverless Spark calculates the billing cycle price strictly based on the purchased duration.

    Scenarios

    Subscription is mainly applicable to the following business scenarios:

    • Long-term stable use: When you expect to use the product for a long time and the demand is relatively stable, the subscription model can provide a more cost-effective solution. For example, long-term running Spark Streaming tasks, or services like Kyuubi and Livy that require long-term deployment.

    • Clear budget planning: For users with clear budget planning, the prepaid model can help you better control costs and avoid cost uncertainty caused by usage fluctuations.

    Billing rules

    The total price of a single workspace subscription quota is: Number of computing resources CU × Unit price of computing resources × Subscription duration.

    Important

    The subscription duration in the formula is measured in months. The specific settlement fee is subject to the final bill.

    For example, in the Singapore region, the unit price of computing resources is 32.21 USD/CU/month. If the subscription quota of the workspace is 100 CU and the subscription duration is 6 months, the subscription quota fee for the current workspace is 100 CU × 32.21 USD/CU/month × 6 months = 19326 USD.

    Billing cycle

    The billing cycle of the workspace subscription quota is based on the duration you purchased (in UTC+8 time). The start of a billing cycle is the time when the workspace is activated or renewed (accurate to the second), and the end is midnight (00:00:00) on the day after the expiration date.

    Renewal policy

    If you want to continue using the subscription quota after the current billing cycle expires, you can renew it. For more renewal details, see Renewal policy.

    Note

    • If you fail to renew in time, tasks submitted to the subscription fee type queue in the workspace will stop running. To avoid affecting your business, please renew in time.

    • If your account has overdue payments, auto-renewal will be affected. Please recharge in time and renew manually.

    Refund policy

    The subscription quota requires prepayment of related fees based on the subscription duration at the time of purchase. If you no longer use the subscription quota due to business changes, you can unsubscribe through fees and costs. For details, see Refund policy.

    Resource scale-out

    After purchasing the subscription quota, you can increase the resource quota according to business needs to achieve resource expansion. For details, see Edit subscription quota.

    The following table describes the unit prices for different types of workspaces across various regions.

    • Discounts are available for subscription durations of one year or longer.

    • Please refer to the actual price on the purchase page if there are promotional activities causing price discrepancies.

    Purchase subscription quota

    Important

    The Zhangjiakou region does not support the purchase of subscription quotas.

    1. Go to the Spark page.

      1. Log on to the EMR console.

      2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose EMR Serverless > Spark.

    2. On the Spark page, in the operation column of the desired workspace, select image > Create Subscription Quota.

    3. On the EMR Serverless Spark Reserved Resources page, you can set the CU Quota based on your needs, select the Subscription Duration , and then click Buy Now .

    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the purchase.

    5. (Optional) View quota information.

      In the Subscription quota column on the Spark page, view the quota information you purchased.

    6. Use the subscription quota.

      You can add or edit resource queues to allocate the subscription quota to the corresponding queue. The purchased subscription quota is by default assigned to the subscription_queue queue. For adjustments, see Manage resource queues.

    Edit subscription quota

    1. On the Spark page, in the operation column of the desired workspace, select image > Edit Subscription Quota.

    2. On the EMR Serverless Spark Reserved Resources | Change Configuration page, you can increase the CU Quota based on your needs, and then click Buy Now.

    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the purchase.
