Resource plans and workspace subscription quotas are prepaid for a fixed subscription duration. When you no longer need them, unsubscribe to release the resources and receive a refund. This page covers the refund rules and step-by-step procedures for both resource types.
How it works
Unsubscribing from EMR Serverless Spark resources follows three steps:

Check eligibility and calculate your refund — Review the rules below to understand how much you'll get back based on your resource type.

Initiate unsubscription — Go to the Unsubscribe page in the Alibaba Cloud console.

Confirm and verify — Review your order details, click Unsubscribe, and check your refund destination.
Unsubscription rules
Subscription quota
Subscription quotas support partial refunds. The refundable amount is calculated as:
Refundable amount = Paid amount - Fees for consumed resources
Where:

Paid amount: The cash amount paid for the order, excluding voucher and coupon discounts.

Fees for consumed resources: Calculated as
(Used duration / Subscription duration) × Paid amount.
When you unsubscribe from a subscription quota, the corresponding workspace is deleted and cannot be restored.
Resource plan
Resource plans support a full refund if unused within five days of purchase:
Refund amount = Actual amount paid
The actual amount paid is the cash amount for the order, excluding voucher and coupon discounts.

Unsubscribe from a subscription quota
Unsubscribing from a subscription quota deletes the workspace and releases all associated resources, including jobs and data. This action cannot be undone. Back up your job scripts before proceeding.
Steps

Log on to the E-MapReduce console.

In the navigation pane on the left, choose EMR Serverless > Spark.

On the Spark page, find the target workspace and click Delete in the Actions column.

On the Unsubscribe page, go to Unsubscribe Resource > Regular Cloud Resource. Find the product and click Unsubscribe Resource in the Actions column.
Alternatively, set Commodity Name to EMR Serverless Spark Reserved Resources and click Search.

Review the resource information and click Unsubscribe.
The workspace is deleted after unsubscription completes.
Unsubscribe from a resource plan
Steps

On the Unsubscribe page, go to Unsubscribe Resources > Resource Plans. Find the product and click Unsubscribe Resource in the Actions column.
Alternatively, set Commodity Name to Spark Computing Resource Plan and click Search.

Review the resource information and click Unsubscribe.
After you unsubscribe from the resource plan, the workspace remains available.
