An elastic IP address (EIP) is a public IP address that you can purchase and use as an independent resource.

Line types

EIPs support BGP (Multi-ISP) lines and BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro lines. The following table describes the differences between BGP (Multi-ISP) and BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro.

Item BGP (Multi-ISP) BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro
Advantages BGP (Multi-ISP) provides high-quality and high-bandwidth BGP lines.
  • Up to 89 high-quality BGP lines are available worldwide.
  • Direct connections can be established in all regions of the Chinese mainland through lines of the following Internet Service Providers (ISPs): China Telecom, China Unicom, China Mobile, China Mobile Tietong, China Netcom, China Education and Research Network (CERNET), National Radio and Television Administration, Dr. Peng Telecom & Media Group, and Founder Broadband Network.
  • You can use BGP (Multi-ISP) with EIP bandwidth plans to obtain bandwidth of 100 Gbit/s and higher.
BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro lines optimize data transmission to the Chinese mainland and improve connection quality for international services. Compared with BGP (Multi-ISP) lines, when BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro lines provide services to users in the Chinese mainland (excluding data centers), cross-border connections are established by using Chinese mainland ISP services. This reduces network latency.
Region All regions China (Hong Kong) and Singapore (Singapore)
Note BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro EIPs in the Singapore (Singapore) region support only the pay-as-you-go billing method.

Anti-DDoS editions

By default, EIPs support Anti-DDoS Origin Basic to protect your services. If you have higher security requirements, you can choose Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium.
  • Default

Anti-DDoS Origin Basic can mitigate DDoS attacks at up to 5 Gbit/s. Anti-DDoS Origin Basic meets basic security requirements.

  • Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium
Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium can mitigate DDoS attacks at the Tbit/s level. Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium is ideal for users that require advanced security protection and low network latency. When you use Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium, take note of the following limits:
    • Only pay-as-you-go EIPs support Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium.
    • To use Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium, you must associate an EIP with an EIP bandwidth plan for which Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium is also enabled.
    • You can enable Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium only when you purchase an EIP. After you purchase an EIP for which Anti-DDoS Origin Basic is enabled, you cannot upgrade Anti-DDoS Origin Basic to Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium.
    • After you enable Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium for an EIP, you cannot disable Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium.
Note To apply for an EIP bandwidth plan that supports Anti-DDoS Pro/Premium, you must first submit a ticket.
