This topic describes how to view the size of all snapshots of a single disk, the size of all snapshots within the specified time range, and the total size of all snapshots in a region.
Prerequisites
At least one snapshot is created for a disk. For more information, see Create a snapshot of a disk.View the snapshot size of a disk based on its snapshot chain
A snapshot chain is a chain of all the snapshots created for a disk. A disk corresponds to a snapshot chain. For more information about snapshot chains, see How do snapshots work.
Note It takes several minutes to estimate the size of snapshot chains. This estimation is for reference only. You must pay for the amount of storage space occupied by the the snapshot. The actual fees on your bills prevail.
Perform the following steps to view the size of all snapshots of a disk in the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) console.
- Log on to the ECS console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
- In the top navigation bar, select a region.
- On the Snapshots page, click the Disk Snapshots tab.
- Find and copy the ID of the disk for which you want to view the snapshot size. Make sure that at least one snapshot is created for the disk.
- Click the Snapshot Chains tab.
- ①: Select Disk ID from the drop-down list.
- ②: Paste the copied disk ID in the search box and click the
icon.
- ③: View the size of all snapshots of the disk in the Disk Size column. Note If the instant access feature is enabled for a snapshot, two snapshot chains are generated, a normal snapshot chain and an instant access snapshot chain. The billing rules vary with the snapshot chain type. For more information, see Snapshots.
- Optional: In the Actions column corresponding to the specified snapshot chain, click Details. You can view the snapshot information of the disk or perform the following operations described in the following topics on the snapshot:

- On the Snapshots page, click the Snapshot Size tab.
- Specify a time range to query. Note You can query the changes in the snapshot size within the last 15 days. You can view the size of snapshots within the specified time range in the current region.
View the total snapshot size in a region
Perform the following steps to view the total snapshot size in a region in the ECS console.
- Log on to the ECS console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
- In the top navigation bar, select a region.
- On the Snapshots page, you can view the total snapshot size, the number of snapshots, and storage capacity units (SCUs) that take effect in the selected region. Note SCUs can be used to offset a portion of the pay-as-you-go bills for snapshots. For more information, see Storage capacity units.
