This topic describes how to view the size of all snapshots for a single disk, the size of all snapshots within the specified time range, and the total size of all snapshots in a region.
Prerequisites
At least one snapshot is created for a disk. For more information, see Create a snapshot for a disk.
View the snapshot size of a disk based on the snapshot chain of the disk
A snapshot chain is a chain of all the snapshots created for a disk. A disk corresponds to a snapshot chain. For more information, see How do snapshots work.
A single-digit-minute latency is involved in calculating the size of a snapshot chain. The displayed snapshot chain size is for reference only. You are charged based on the actual storage space that is occupied by the snapshot chain. You can view the actual fees in your bills.
Perform the following steps to view the size of all snapshots for a disk in the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) console.
Log on to the ECS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the upper-left corner of the top navigation bar, select a region.
On the Snapshots page, click the Disk Snapshots tab.
Find and copy the ID of the disk for which you want to view the snapshot size. Make sure that at least one snapshot is created for the disk.
Click the Snapshot Chains tab.
①: Select Disk ID from the drop-down list.
②: Paste the copied disk ID in the search box and click
.
③: View the size of all snapshots for the disk in the Snapshot Size column.
NoteIf the instant access feature is enabled for a snapshot, two snapshot chains are generated, a normal snapshot chain and an instant access snapshot chain. The billing rules vary based on the snapshot chain type. For more information, see Snapshots.
(Optional) Find the snapshot chain that you want to manage and click Details in the Actions column.
You can view the snapshot information of the disk or perform the operations described in the following topics on the snapshot:
View the snapshot size within a specified time range
Perform the following steps to view the size of all snapshots within a specified time range in the ECS console.
Log on to the ECS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the upper-left corner of the top navigation bar, select a region.
On the Snapshots page, click the Snapshot Size tab.
Set a time range to query the snapshot size.
NoteYou can query the changes in the snapshot size within the last 15 days.
You can view the size of snapshots within the specified time range in the current region.
View the total snapshot size in a region
Perform the following steps to view the total snapshot size in a region in the ECS console.
Log on to the ECS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the upper-left corner of the top navigation bar, select a region.
On the Snapshots page, view the total snapshot size, the number of snapshots, and storage capacity units (SCUs) that take effect in the selected region.
NoteSCUs can be used to offset a portion of the pay-as-you-go bills for snapshots. For more information, see Storage capacity units.
