With a subscription Elastic IP Address (EIP), you pay only a bandwidth fee based on a fixed maximum bandwidth. This billing method is ideal for services that have stable peak traffic and require resources for long-term use.
Guaranteed resources: Reserve resources in advance to ensure the continuity and stability of your services.
Cost-effective: More cost-effective for long-term use than pay-as-you-go (pay-by-bandwidth).
For example, if you purchase an EIP with a 5 Mbit/s maximum bandwidth in the Singapore region, the subscription price is USD 17 per month, whereas the cumulative cost for a pay-as-you-go (pay-by-bandwidth) EIP for one month is approximately USD 26.
Billable items and pricing
For a subscription EIP, you pay a bandwidth fee based on the specified maximum bandwidth and subscription duration.
Bandwidth fee = Bandwidth unit price (USD/month) × Subscription duration (months)EIP are available in two line types: BGP (Multi-ISP) and BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro. The bandwidth unit price varies by line type.
The following tables show the pricing for the public cloud. The regions and prices are for reference only. For the actual prices, see the buy page.

Billing cycle and bill generation time
Billing cycle: The subscription duration of an order. The time is based on UTC+8. A billing cycle starts when you create or renew a resource (accurate to the second) and ends at 00:00:00 on the day after its expiration date.
An EIP enters the Overdue state 72 hours (3 days) after it expires. In this state, the EIP cannot provide services and its bandwidth is limited to 1 kbit/s.
The system automatically releases an EIP 72 hours (3 days) after it enters the Overdue state. After an EIP is released, its configurations and data are permanently deleted and are irrecoverable.
Bill generation time: The system typically generates bills on the first day of the month after a billing cycle ends. The actual generation time may vary.
Billing example
Assume that you purchase a subscription BGP (Multi-ISP) EIP with a 10 Mbit/s bandwidth in the Singapore region for one month on June 14. The EIP expires at 00:00:00 on July 15. The total fee is calculated as follows: [USD 17.00 + (10 - 5) × 11.83]/month × 1 month = USD 76.15.
View bills and usage
View bills: Log on to the Billing Management console and view your bills.
View EIP bills: Go to the Billing Details page. In the Product drop-down list, select Elastic IP Address, and then select a time range to view the billing details of your EIPs.
View usage: Go to the EIP console. Click the ID of the target EIP and click the Monitoring and O&M tab to view the real-time bandwidth and traffic. You can also go to the CloudMonitor console to view more detailed monitoring data.
Invoices and tax rates: Request an invoice after you pay for an order or after a bill settles. For more information, see Obtain invoices.
Modify configurations
You can modify the bandwidth of a subscription EIP to meet your business requirements.
Upgrade: Increase the bandwidth at any time by completing the following steps.
Procedure: Click Bandwidth in the Modify Configuration column of the target EIP and set a new bandwidth value.
Billing impact: You must pay the price difference for the remaining time in the current billing cycle.
Effective time: The new configuration takes effect immediately after you complete the payment.
Downgrade: You cannot downgrade configuration during the current billing cycle. To lower the bandwidth, renew the EIP and select a lower value.
Procedure: In the Actions column of the target EIP, choose . Set the Subscription Duration and Bandwidth.
Billing impact: The fee is calculated by using the following formula:
Monthly unit price of the new bandwidth × Subscription duration (months).Effective time: The new configuration takes effect in the next billing cycle.
Renew subscription
Before the EIP expires, open the Elastic IP Address console and extend the subscription duration.
Renew with the original bandwidth: In the Actions column of the target EIP, choose and set the Subscription Duration. The fee is calculated by using the following formula: Monthly unit price of the current bandwidth × Subscription duration (months).
Renew with a different bandwidth: In the Actions column of the target EIP, choose . Set the Subscription Duration and Bandwidth. The fee is calculated by using the following formula:
Monthly unit price of the new bandwidth × Subscription duration (months). The new bandwidth applies at the start of the next billing cycle.
Before the renewal takes effect, you can choose in the Actions column of the target EIP. This operation cannot be undone. Proceed with caution.
Change the billing method
To switch a subscription EIP to pay-as-you-go, use one of the following methods.
Change to pay-as-you-go (pay-by-bandwidth): Direct change is supported.
Procedure: In the Actions column of the target EIP, choose .
Impacts:
The change takes effect immediately.
The instance is not released after the billing method changes. Make sure that your account has a sufficient balance to prevent service suspension due to overdue payments. If you no longer need the instance, back up its data and then release it in the console.
Alibaba Cloud refunds the unused portion of your subscription to the original payment method. For information about how the refund is calculated, see Refunds for changing the billing method from subscription to pay-as-you-go.
If the instance has pending renewal or upgrade orders, a full refund is provided. For effective orders, only a partial refund is provided.
No refund is provided for renewal orders that are generated as compensation for ICP filing, data center failures, or data center migration.
Change to pay-as-you-go (pay-by-data-transfer): This is a two-step process. You must first change the billing method to pay-as-you-go (pay-by-bandwidth) and then to pay-as-you-go (pay-by-data-transfer).
Procedure: In the Actions column of the target EIP, choose . After the change, in the Actions column of the target EIP, choose . Change the billing method for Traffic to pay-by-data-transfer.
Impacts:
When you change the billing method from pay-as-you-go (pay-by-bandwidth) to pay-as-you-go (pay-by-data-transfer), the change takes effect at 00:00:00 (UTC+8) on the next day.
You cannot change the maximum bandwidth before the new billing method for public bandwidth takes effect.
Release and unsubscribe
You cannot release a subscription EIP or unsubscribe from it. To stop incurring charges, switch the billing method to pay-as-you-go and then release the EIP, or let the subscription expire.
