Edge Security Acceleration (ESA) uses a hybrid billing model: subscription plans (subscription) for base costs and pay-as-you-go for overage and value-added services. This provides cost predictability with usage-based flexibility.
Billing rules
ESA requires a subscription plan to access its features. Traffic or value-added services that exceed your plan quota are billed on a recurring pay-as-you-go basis.
Free plan
ESA offers a permanently free package for individual developers to debug services in non-production environments and explore ESA features. Free Entrance Package Details.
Subscription plan
When you add a website to ESA, select a plan based on your business needs and prepay the monthly plan fee:

Activation: Takes effect immediately after purchase or upgrade. The billing cycle is one calendar month.

Traffic reset: Traffic allowance resets at 00:00 on the first day of each month. Unused traffic does not roll over.

Upgrade: Available at any time and takes effect immediately. You pay only the prorated difference between plans.

Downgrade: Not currently supported.
Overage fees
If your monthly traffic usage exceeds your plan's allowance, overage fees apply on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Value-added service fees
Value-added services are optional and disabled by default. You are charged only after you enable and use them. ESA supports the following value-added services:
