Edge Security Acceleration:Billing FAQ

Last Updated:Dec 19, 2025

Purchase notes

  1. Higher-tier plans offer more features, more data transfer, and support for a greater number of rules. You can purchase plans on a monthly or yearly basis. The longer the subscription, the greater the discount. For more information, see Differences between plans.

  2. Each plan supports associating one website. To support multiple websites, you can purchase an Enterprise plan or multiple Entrance, Pro, or Premium plans.

  3. The Entrance plan supports a peak bandwidth of up to 1 Gbps. The Pro and Premium plans support a peak bandwidth of up to 10 Gbps. The Enterprise plan has no bandwidth limit.

Are plans and websites attached?

No. Plans and websites can be independent. When you delete a website, the attached plan is detached. You can then select the detached plan when you add a new website.

How is plan usage deducted?

  1. Plan usage is the sum of request and response data transfer. For the Pro and Premium plans, you are not billed for the number of requests. If you enable the pay-as-you-go feature, you will incur additional fees.

  2. The data transfer included in your plan applies to the Chinese mainland, China (Hong Kong), Macao (China), Taiwan (China), and regions outside the Chinese mainland. Usage from all regions is deducted from the same allowance.

  3. Usage is deducted on a calendar month basis for all plans. Unused data transfer from the current month does not roll over to the next month. After the included data transfer is used up, you are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.

How do I renew a plan?

You can enable or disable the renewal feature in the console or Expenses and Costs at any time. We recommend that you enable auto-renewal to prevent service disruptions when your plan expires.

How do I get a refund after purchasing a plan?

  • If you purchased the plan within the last 5 days and have used less than 10 MB of data, you can request a self-service unsubscription.

  • If you purchased the plan more than 5 days, have used more than 10 MB of data, or need a refund due to other special circumstances, contact us to request a refund.

Will an overdue payment affect my active subscription plans?

If your Alibaba Cloud account has an overdue payment, your ESA service, including subscription plans and value-added services, will be suspended for all websites associated with your account. You can resume using the services after you settle the overdue payment.

Note

When you use ESA services, an overdue payment on a pay-as-you-go item can also affect your subscription plans.

Will I be notified before the data transfer in my plan is used up?

To reduce the risk of unexpected data transfer fees or service disruptions, the system notifies you by internal message and email when the data transfer in your plan is almost used up.

When the traffic reaches:

  • Less than 30%

  • Less than 10%

  • When the remaining traffic is 0%

Check your remaining data transfer.

Warning

If you do not set a data transfer cap, you are charged for data transfer that exceeds the plan quota. To prevent your website from being suspended due to overdue payments:

  • Ensure that your Alibaba Cloud account balance is sufficient.
