Data Transmission Service:Upgrade from one-way to two-way synchronization

Last Updated:Jun 10, 2026

Upgrade the synchronization topology of a DTS data synchronization task from one-way to two-way in the DTS console.

Prerequisites

  • Both the source and destination instances are MySQL databases.

  • The task topology is One-way Synchronization.

  • The task status is Running.

Limitations

  • This upgrade is irreversible. You cannot downgrade from two-way back to one-way synchronization.

  • The upgrade causes approximately 5 seconds of synchronization delay. Perform this operation during off-peak hours.

  • To prevent circular synchronization, DTS creates a database named dts in the destination instance. Ensure that the account used for the task has read and write permissions on this dts database.

Billing

  • Subscription instances

Upgrade fee = (Daily price of the instance after the upgrade - Daily price of the instance before the upgrade) × Remaining days until the subscription expires.

    Note

The remaining subscription days determine the daily rate:

    • If fewer than 300 days remain, the monthly subscription rate applies.

    • If 300 or more days remain, the annual subscription rate applies.

  • Pay-as-you-go instances

Billing remains unchanged. You are charged hourly based on the current instance configuration.

Pricing is detailed in the Billing overview.
