This topic describes how to configure a Data Transmission Service (DTS) serverless instance. Serverless instances are highly elastic and cost-effective and require no manual adjustment of resource specifications.
Prerequisites
A serverless instance can be configured for your task. For more information about the limits of serverless instances and supported regions, see What is a DTS serverless instance?
Procedure
Use one of the following methods to go to the Data Synchronization page and select the region in which the data synchronization instance resides.
DTS console
Log on to the DTS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Data Synchronization.
In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region in which the data synchronization task resides.
DMS console
NoteThe actual operations may vary based on the mode and layout of the DMS console. For more information, see Simple mode and Customize the layout and style of the DMS console.
Log on to the DMS console.
In the top navigation bar, move the pointer over Data + AI and choose .
From the drop-down list to the right of Data Synchronization Tasks, select the region in which the data synchronization instance resides.
Configure a data synchronization task as needed and go to the Purchase Instance step.
For more information, see topics listed in Overview of data synchronization scenarios.
Select Pay-as-you-go Serverless as the billing method.
Configure Auto Scaling Configurations for Serverless Instance as needed.
NoteValid values for the minimum number of DUs are 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32. Valid values for the maximum number of DUs are 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32.
Select Data Transmission Service (Pay-as-you-go) Service Terms and then click Buy and Start.
You can view the progress of the serverless instance on the Data Synchronization Tasks page.
FAQ
Can I purchase a serverless instance and then configure a task on the instance?
Yes. On the Data Synchronization Tasks page, find the serverless instance that you have purchased and click Configure Task in the Actions column to configure a task on the instance.
How do I distinguish serverless instances?
On the Data Synchronization Tasks page, the instances whose Billing Method is Serverless are serverless instances.
How does DTS configure the initial number of DUs when a serverless instance starts?
Before a serverless instance starts, DTS cannot determine the actual number of DUs required. Therefore, DTS calculates an initial number of DUs based on the configured minimum and maximum values. After the serverless instance starts, DTS automatically scales the number of DUs based on the actual workload.
