Before you use Hybrid Backup Recovery (HBR) to back up MySQL databases deployed on Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances, you must register a MySQL instance in the HBR console.

The preparations for MySQL database backup are completed. For more information, see Prepare for data backup.

  1. Log on to the HBR console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Backup > Database Backup.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select a region.
  4. On the Database Backup page, click the MySQL tab.
  5. On the ECS Database Instance tab, click Register Database Instance in the upper-right corner.
  6. In the Register MySQL database instance panel, select the ECS database instance that you want to register. Click Next.
Note All the database instances in the current region are displayed. If you cannot find the database instances that you want to register, you can click Discover Database. Cloud Assistant automatically scans all database instances and discovers the database instances deployed on ECS.
  7. In the Config Link Info step, set the parameters and click OK. The following table describes the parameters.
    Parameter Description
Database Account The username of the database instance.
Password The password of the database instance.
After you register the MySQL instance, HBR installs an HBR client for ECS on each node of the MySQL instance. On the ECS Database Instance tab, you can view the installation status of the HBR client on each node of the MySQL instance. You can also upgrade an HBR client for ECS based on your business requirements.
