In Data Management (DMS), you can disable or enable database instances based on your business requirements. This topic shows you how to disable and enable a database instance and how to view the reason why a database instance is disabled.

Operation | Description |

Disable a database instance | If you do not allow other DMS users to query or change the data of a specific database
instance, you can disable the database instance.

View the reason why a database instance is disabled | You can check whether a database instance is manually disabled or view the reason why a database instance is disabled. |
Enable a database instance | If you want to query or change the data of a disabled database instance in DMS, you
must first enable the database instance.
Note After the database instance is enabled, you can query or change the data of the database
instance in DMS, and the database instance appears in the left-side instance list
on the homepage of the DMS console.
