This topic describes how to delete and restart shares, and hide the task list on the Shares page in the Cloud Storage Gateway (CSG) console.
Prerequisites
A share must already exist. For more information, see Create a share.
Before you release a gateway instance, make sure that all file shares and block volumes under the gateway are deleted. Otherwise, the release operation cannot be performed.
-
On the Gateways page of the CSG console, click the ID of the target gateway.
-
On the Shares tab, perform the following operations as needed.
Actions
Description
Delete a share
Find the target share and click Delete in the Actions column.
Deleting a share detaches it from the associated Object Storage Service (OSS) bucket. Data in the OSS bucket is retained, but data on the corresponding cache disk is cleared. The cache disk itself is not released. To use the same cache disk for a new share, you must re-associate the disk with an OSS bucket.
Warning-
Before you delete an NFS share, unmount it from the client. If you delete the share before unmounting it, the mounted directory may fail to unmount correctly. Subsequent operations on this directory may cause it to hang or become unresponsive for an extended period.
-
Delete a share only when its status is Sync Completed. Otherwise, data synchronization will be interrupted.
-
Deleting a share does not stop billing for the gateway. If you no longer need the gateway, delete it in the CSG console to avoid further charges.
-
Before you delete a share, confirm that it is no longer in use to prevent data loss or service disruptions.
Restart NFS shares
Click Restart NFS Shares to restart all NFS shares on the gateway.
WarningRestarting shares causes a temporary service interruption. Proceed with caution.
Restart SMB shares
Click Restart SMB Shares to restart all SMB shares on the gateway.
WarningRestarting shares causes a temporary service interruption. Proceed with caution.
Hide tasks
Click Hide Tasks to hide the task list at the bottom of the page.
