Transfer acceleration increases the speed of data transfers across regions by using the public bandwidth of a file gateway. This topic describes how to enable transfer acceleration for a file gateway.
Prerequisites
A file gateway is created, and a cache disk is attached to it.
An OSS bucket is created. For more information, see Get started by using the OSS console.
Transfer acceleration is enabled for the OSS bucket.
Transfer acceleration is supported only in cross-region data transfers.
Notes
When you enable transfer acceleration for a share, take note of the following information:
A gateway may have multiple shares. You must enable transfer acceleration for the intended share.
If transfer acceleration is enabled for a share that is mapped to an OSS bucket for which transfer acceleration is not enabled, transfer acceleration does not take effect for the share.
If transfer acceleration is enabled for a share that is mapped to an OSS bucket for which transfer acceleration is also enabled, transfer acceleration takes effect for the share.
Methods
Method 1: Enable transfer acceleration during share creation
To enable transfer acceleration when you create a share, perform the following steps:
On the Gateways page of the Cloud Storage Gateway (CSG) console, click the ID of the gateway. On the tab, click Create.
In the Bucket Settings step, select Yes for Cross-region Binding.
In the Advanced Settings step, select Yes for Transfer Acceleration.
NoteYou can configure transfer acceleration only if you enable cross-region binding in the Bucket Settings step.

After the share is created, you can click the plus (+) icon to the left of the share name to check whether transfer acceleration is enabled.
Method 2: Enable transfer acceleration after share creation
On the Gateways page of the CSG console, click the ID of the gateway.
On the Shares tab, find the share and click Advanced Settings in the Actions column.
In the NFS Share Advanced Settings or SMB Share Advanced Settings page, select Yes for Transfer Acceleration.
NoteYou can configure transfer acceleration only if you have enabled cross-region binding for the share.

You can click the plus sign (+) to the left of the share name to check whether transfer acceleration is enabled for the share.
