Cloud Parallel File Storage (CPFS) is a fully managed and scalable parallel file system from Alibaba Cloud designed for high-performance computing (HPC) scenarios. CPFS for Lingjun is a new and upgraded version of this storage system, specifically designed for AI services. It features an innovative distributed parallel storage architecture, a self-developed high-performance RoCE network protocol, virtual storage channel technology, and an elastic client with a multi-level cache. This design provides high throughput, low latency, and serverless high-performance storage.
Why choose CPFS for Lingjun?
CPFS for Lingjun is a new and upgraded storage system from Alibaba Cloud designed for AI services. It provides the following benefits:
High performance: It uses a distributed parallel architecture. A single file system provides a throughput of up to 2 TB/s and 30,000,000 IOPS. The throughput for data movement with OSS can reach up to 100 GB/s.
Low latency: It provides stable, sub-millisecond I/O latency.
Scalability: It supports online scale-out. Performance increases as storage capacity grows.
Large-scale file support: A fully symmetric metadata server architecture supports 10 billion files in a single file system. It provides over 100,000 metadata operations per second (OPS).
Low cost: It supports efficient data movement with OSS to reduce data storage costs.
Security: It supports log audit and provides data protection through Cloud Backup to ensure data security.
Scenarios
It is suitable for AI computing scenarios, such as AIGC and autonomous driving. Currently, it can only be used with PAI Lingjun resources, PAI general computing resources, PAI Lingjun resources (single-tenant edition), and Container Compute Service (ACS). You cannot mount and access CPFS for Lingjun from an ECS instance that is created in the ECS console.
Usage
You can manage CPFS for Lingjun resources in the following ways:
Managing CPFS for Lingjun from the console
CPFS provides a web-based console. You can log on to the NAS console to manage your CPFS for Lingjun resources.
You can manage CPFS for Lingjun using an API or SDK.
CPFS provides RESTful APIs and SDKs for various languages to help you with custom development.
Stop the service
You cannot directly stop the service after it is enabled. If you enable the service but do not create a CPFS for Lingjun file system, no fees are incurred.
If you no longer use this product and want to stop billing, see Billing FAQ. Note that data cannot be recovered after you delete a CPFS for Lingjun file system.
To understand a specific charge, see Query bills and Query usage.
