Cloud Backup:Billing examples

Last Updated:Apr 17, 2026

Cloud Backup uses the pay-as-you-go billing method. The following examples illustrate how fees are calculated for common backup scenarios.

Note

The unit prices and fees in the following examples are for reference only. For actual prices, see Cloud Backup pricing. Your actual bill may differ.

Pay-as-you-go

Example: ECS instance with file and database backups

An ECS instance contains 10 GB of files and 163 GB of database files. No incremental data is generated. Cloud Backup runs a full backup once a month. Each backup is retained for 30 days.

Based on a 30-day month, the total monthly cost is USD 14.036744. The following table shows the breakdown.

Billable item

Description

Billing unit

Unit price per month

Fee per month

File backup software fee

Charged per node where the backup client is installed.

Per ECS instance or local server

USD 5.383511

USD 5.383511

Backup vault storage capacity

Charged based on the storage capacity after deduplication and compression, not the raw data size. For example, 10 GB of raw data becomes approximately 8 GB after deduplication and compression.

To estimate the required backup storage capacity, use the Backup Storage Capacity Calculator.

Per GB

USD 0.031870

USD 0.031870 × 8 GB = USD 0.25496

Database backup vault rental fee

Each database backup vault incurs a fixed monthly rental fee. A single vault can store backups of multiple databases in the same region.

Per backup vault

USD 6.460213

USD 6.460213

Database backup storage capacity fee

Tiered pricing applies. For example, 163 GB of raw data becomes approximately 130 GB after deduplication and compression. A free quota of 100 GB per month is provided, so only 30 GB is billable.

To estimate the required backup storage capacity, use the Backup Storage Capacity Calculator.

Per GB

USD 0.064602 (First 500 GB)

USD 0.064602 × 30 GB = USD 1.93806
