Subscription Prometheus instances

You can unsubscribe from the resources in use and cancel the renewal of a subscription Prometheus instance. Before you unsubscribe from a Prometheus instance, learn more about Alibaba Cloud unsubscription rules, usage notes, and unsubscription examples. The following sections describe the unsubscription rules, unsubscription process, and impact of unsubscription of Prometheus instances.

Unsubscription rules

• Formula: Refundable amount = Paid amount - Fee for consumed resources

  • Paid amount is the money that you paid and does not include the amount that is covered by coupons or vouchers.

  • The fee for consumed resources is calculated based on the following formula: Fee for consumed resources = Daily fee × Consumed subscription duration × Discount for the consumed subscription duration.

    The daily fee is equal to the order-specific fee divided by 30. For example, you want to unsubscribe from a Prometheus instance. The monthly price of the Prometheus instance was USD 298 when it was purchased. The current monthly price is USD 398. The daily fee is calculated based on the following formula: Daily fee = USD 298/30.

    Note

    The consumed subscription duration is accurate to days. The part that is less than one day is counted as one day.

• Limits: For Managed Service for Prometheus resources that are purchased during promotional events, if the general refund policy conflicts with the refund policy of the promotion, the refund policy of the promotion prevails. You cannot unsubscribe from non-refundable Managed Service for Prometheus resources. If the refundable amount is 0, you cannot apply for a refund.

Unsubscription process

You can unsubscribe from subscription Managed Service for Prometheus resources in the Billing Management console.

On the Unsubscribe page, you can unsubscribe from a Prometheus instance on the following tabs based on its subscription status.

Unsubscribe from resources that are being used

This operation is applicable to scenarios where you no longer need to use your subscription Prometheus instances.

1. On the Unsubscribe page, click the Unsubscribe from resources that are being used tab.

2. Find the Prometheus instance from which you want to unsubscribe and click Unsubscribe Resource in the Actions column.

   Note

   You can also query orders from which you want to subscribe by setting Name to Prometheus Pro Edition (Subscription) and setting Instance ID or Created At.

3. On the Unsubscribe Resource page, check the resource information, enter the reason why you want to unsubscribe from the current resource, and then select I have read the Unsubscribing Rules and confirmed the unsubscribe amount and I have confirmed that the data of the unsubscribe instance is backed up and migrated.

Unsubscribe from a renewal period

This operation is applicable to scenarios where you need to cancel renewal orders.

1. On the Unsubscribe page, click the Unsubscribe Renewal Period tab.

2. Find the Prometheus instance whose renewal order you want to cancel and click Cancel Renewal in the Actions column.

   Note

   You can also query orders from which you want to subscribe by setting Name to Prometheus Pro Edition (Subscription) and setting Instance ID or Created At.

3. On the Cancel Renewal page, confirm the Updated Expiration Time parameter and select I have read the Unsubscribing Rules and confirmed the unsubscribe amount.

4. Click Unsubscribe. In the message that appears, click OK.

Impact of unsubscription

After you unsubscribe from a subscription Prometheus instance, the billing method of the instance is automatically changed to pay-as-you-go. For more information about the pay-as-you-go billing method, see Pay-as-you-go.

If your Alibaba Cloud account has a sufficient balance to settle your bill, you can use the Managed Service for Prometheus service as expected. If your Alibaba Cloud account does not have a sufficient balance to settle your bill, the bill becomes overdue. For information about the impact of overdue payments, see Overdue payments.

Refund flow

Pay-as-you-go Prometheus instances

If you use the pay-as-you-go billing method, Prometheus Service generates a bill for the previous day on a daily basis and deducts the bill amount from the balance of your Alibaba Cloud account. You are not charged upfront fees. Therefore, you cannot apply for a refund.
