This topic describes the refund and release rules for ApsaraDB for Redis instances.

Limits

Only instances in the Running state can be unsubscribed.
After an instance is unsubscribed, it cannot be restored. Proceed with caution. We recommend that you create a backup for the instance and download the backup before you unsubscribe the instance. For more information, see Backup and restoration solutions.

Release a pay-as-you-go instance

Pay-as-you-go instances are billed based on actual usage. No refunds are involved. If a pay-as-you-go instance is no longer needed, you can release the instance. After the release, the instance is no longer billed. For more information, see Release pay-as-you-go instances.

Unsubscribe a subscription instance

Subscription instances are prepaid based on the instance type and subscription duration. If a subscription instance is no longer needed, you can Submit a ticket to unsubscribe the instance.
