Primary/Replica Edition

A traditional primary/replica architecture that supports zero to five read-only nodes. You can add nodes as needed for a cost-effective setup with flexible resource management. All read-only nodes can participate in switchovers to ensure high availability (HA) and system stability. For more information, see Primary/Replica Edition.

A primary node with zero replica nodes: small websites, SaaS systems, testing, and learning.
A primary node with multiple replica nodes: production databases in medium to large enterprises with high-traffic read requests and data analytics needs, such as new retail, automotive manufacturing, education, and large ERP systems.

High-availability Edition

A high-availability architecture with one primary node and one secondary node. You can add up to seven read-only nodes. By default, a purchased instance includes only the primary and secondary nodes.
