This topic describes how API Gateway charges fees for dedicated instances and serverless instances.
API Gateway provides instances in two categories: dedicated instances and serverless instances. The two types of instances are suitable for different application scenarios. For information about the differences between the instance types, see Choose an instance type.
Dedicated instances provide high performance and high service level agreement (SLA) assurance. These instances are suitable for production environments.
Serverless instances are suitable for development, testing, and small-scale production environments.
The following items describe how you are charged for the two types of instances:
Dedicated instances charge specification fees and outbound Internet traffic fees. For more information, see Dedicated instances.
Shared instances charge API call fees and outbound Internet traffic fees. API call fees are charged based on the number of API calls that are made.
