API Gateway bills dedicated instances and serverless instances differently. Dedicated instances charge specification fees plus outbound Internet traffic fees, while serverless instances charge per API call plus outbound Internet traffic fees.
API Gateway supports two instance types: dedicated instances and serverless instances. Each type suits different workloads. For a comparison of the two types, see Choose an instance type.
Dedicated instances provide high performance and a high service level agreement (SLA). They are suitable for production environments.
Serverless instances are suited for development, testing, and small-scale production environments.
