Alibaba Mail:Local Email Data Migration by Foxmail + IMAP

This document describes how to upload the original email data back to Alibaba Mail account by IMAP protocol on the Foxmail for some enterprise users.

Note
  1. The MX resolution of the Alibaba Mail domain name that receives the migrated data has been switched to Alibaba Mail.

  2. The IMAP service of the Alibaba Mail account that receives the migrated data has been activated. For more information, please check How to Turn-off /Open the POP3 or IMAP Protocol for Accounts?.

1. Configure the original email account to the Foxmail client using the IMAP protocol (skip this step if the original email account has been configured), and wait for the Foxmail client to download all emails.

2. Export emails by folder.

A. After entering the mail folder, selects all emails, and choose Export Mails.

B. Select the directory to export messages.

3. Configure the Alibaba Mail account to the Foxmail client using the IMAP protocol.

4. Import the exported original email into the Alibaba Mail.

A. Create a new folder under the Alibaba Mail account for importing emails.

B. Click Import Mail of the new folder.

C. Select all the emails to be imported and click Open.

D. Prompt whether to copy the imported emails to the server, select Yes.

E. Repeat the above steps to complete the import of emails from all the folders.

F. Wait for the data to be synchronized to the Alibaba Mail server.

Note

Upload data back to Alibaba Mail is a continuous uploading process of the client network, and the Foxmail client cannot be closed. If the email data is large, please wait patiently. During the uploading process, ensure that the computer network connection is normal.

5. Log in to the Alibaba Mail webpage to confirm the completion of email data synchronization.
