This topic describes how to set up the Alibaba Mail account in Mac Mail client
1. Open Mail client, select Other Mail Account and click Continue.
2. Input the email address and password and click Sign In.
3. An error will prompt and need to input the server manually. Take IMAP protocol settings as an example:
The prompt "Unable to verify account name or password" is because the server name automatically detected by the system does not match. If you manually enter the correct name and log in successfully, please ignore the error.
Incoming Mail Server:
POP3 Incoming Serve: pop.sg.aliyun.com or pop.your domain name, non-encrypted port: 110 or SSL encrypted port: 995
IMAP Incoming Server (recommend): imap.sg.aliyun.com or imap.your domain name, non-encrypted port: 143 or SSL encrypted port: 993
Outgoing Mail Server:
SMTP Outgoing Serve: smtp.sg.aliyun.com or smtp.your domain name, non-encrypted port: 25 or SSL encrypted port: 465
The screenshot and info here uses the server of SG site, please check IMAP, POP and SMTP Server and Port Information of Alibaba Mail for server info of other sites.
We recommend that using SSL to encrypt the connection, which is more secure. When using, please pay attention to whether the encrypted ports 465, 995, and 993 have been opened on your local computer and network.
5. Select the apps you want to use with this account.
6. The settings are complete.
