Alibaba Cloud supports several identity authentication methods to meet the security requirements and use cases of different user roles, such as account owners, company employees, and federated users. This document explains how to log on to the Alibaba Cloud console using an Alibaba Cloud account or a third-party account.
An Alibaba Cloud account has full access to all resources within the account and holds the highest level of permissions. To protect your assets, log on with this account only when necessary. For daily operations and maintenance (O&M), use a Resource Access Management (RAM) user instead. See Step 4: Create a RAM user as an administrator for details.
Method 1: Log on with an Alibaba Cloud account
Scenarios
For account creators or administrators to perform high-privilege operations, such as changing the payment method, resetting a service key, or managing the organization structure.
For the first logon after registration, or to complete key steps such as account attachment or identity verification.
Procedure
Go to the logon page for the Alibaba Cloud international site (alibabacloud.com).
Enter the account name (usually the email address or phone number used for registration) and password.
Click Log On.
Method 2: Log on with a third-party account (Google / GitHub)
Scenarios
For a quick and convenient logon after you attach your Alibaba Cloud account to a Google or GitHub account. This is especially useful for developers and open-source project collaboration.
For seamless access from a company's unified identity authentication system, such as Single Sign-On (SSO), through a third-party platform.
You can view and manage attached third-party accounts in the Alibaba Cloud console.
Google account
Go to the Alibaba Cloud logon page.
Below the logon form, click the Google icon.
The page redirects to the Google authentication page. Follow the prompts to enter your Google account information (email address and password).
If multi-factor authentication (MFA) is enabled, complete the additional verification.
After you grant authorization for Alibaba Cloud to access your basic information, you are automatically redirected to the console and logged on.
GitHub account
Go to the Alibaba Cloud logon page.
Below the logon form, click the GitHub icon.
The page redirects to the GitHub authentication page. Enter your GitHub username or email address and password.

What do I do if I forget my logon password?
Try to resolve the issue by following the instructions in Reset your password online.

My phone number is attached to multiple accounts. Can I merge them for logon?
No. Alibaba Cloud accounts are independent and cannot be merged. When you log on, select the account that you want to use.
How many Alibaba Cloud accounts can I attach to one third-party account?
You can attach only one Alibaba Cloud account to a third-party account. However, you can attach multiple third-party accounts to one Alibaba Cloud account.
