When an ApsaraDB for MongoDB subscription instance expires, the instance is released and its data is permanently deleted. To protect the data from being permanently deleted, you can manually renew the instance or enable auto-renewal for the instancewithin 30 days after the instance expires.

Prerequisites

The billing method of the instance is subscription.

Background information

  • You can enable auto-renewal when you purchase an ApsaraDB for MongoDB instance. You also have the option to enable auto-renewal in the ApsaraDB for MongoDB console after the instance is created. The system renews your instance based on the selected renewal cycle. For example, if you select a three-month renewal cycle, you are charged a subscription fee of three months in each renewal cycle.
    Note
    • Auto-renewal takes effect the next day after the feature is enabled. For example, if you enable auto-renewal on June 21, 2021, the feature takes effect on June 22, 2021. If your instance expires on June 22, 2021, you must manually renew it.
    • If you manually renewed your instance before the deduction date, the system renews your instance on the day when your instance expires.
    • After auto-renewal is enabled, the system deducts fees from your account balance to pay for the order nine days before your instance expires. Make sure that you have sufficient balance within your payment account. You can use coupons for auto-renewal.
  • When the subscription expires, your instance is still available for 15 days. After that, the instance is locked. The instance is released when the payment has been overdue for more than 30 days. The data on the released instance is permanently deleted. For more information about renewal rules and billing methods, see Billing items and pricing.
