Last Updated:Mar 28, 2026

Subscription instances that expire without renewal are locked within 15 days and permanently deleted within 30 days. Renew a subscription instance manually from the ApsaraDB for MongoDB console or the Renewal Management console.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  • A subscription instance in ApsaraDB for MongoDB

What happens when a subscription instance expires

After a subscription instance expires, it moves through three stages:

StageDurationInstance state
Grace periodDays 1–15 after expiryInstance remains available
Retention periodDays 16–30 after expiryInstance is locked; data is retained
DeletionAfter day 30Instance is released and data is permanently deleted

Renew the instance within 30 days of expiry to avoid data loss. For billing details and renewal rules, see Expiration or overdue payments.

After a subscription instance expires, the instance remains available for 15 days. After 15 days, the instance is locked and the data is retained for another 15 days. You must renew the instance within 30 days after it expires. Otherwise, the instance will be released and its data will be permanently deleted. For more information about renewal rules and billing details, see Instance\ expiration\ and\ overdue\ payments.
