In Data Management (DMS), regular users can apply for and release permissions. DMS administrators, database administrators (DBAs), or database owners can grant regular users the permissions on specific instances and revoke these permissions. In addition, a DMS administrator can grant permissions to or revoke permissions from multiple regular users at a time.

Apply for permissions as a regular user

This section shows you how to apply for the query permissions on a database as a regular user. For more information, see Permission management.

  1. Log on to the DMS console V5.0.
    Note To switch to the previous version of the DMS console, click the 5租户头像 icon in the lower-right corner of the page. For more information, see Switch to the previous version of the DMS console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click Security and Specifications. In the left-side navigation pane, click Permission. On the Access applyTickets page, click Access apply in the upper-right corner and select Database-Permission.
    Note If you are using the previous version of the DMS console, move the pointer over the More icon in the top navigation bar and choose Permission > Database-Permission.
  3. On the Permission Application Ticket page, enter the keyword of a database name in the field, set the parameters as required, and then click Search.
  4. Select the database on which you want to apply for permissions from the matched results and click Add. The database appears in the Selected Databases/Tables/Columns section.

  5. In the Select Permission section, set the parameters that are described in the following table and click Submit.

    Parameter Description
    Permission The type of permission for which you want to apply. Valid values: Query, Export, and Change.
    Note You can select one or more permission types.
    Duration The validity period of the selected permissions.
    Reason The description of the business background and the reason for this application. This reduces unnecessary communication and facilitates the approval process.
    Note After a permission application ticket is submitted, wait until the ticket is approved. You can view the status of the ticket in the My Tickets section of the Home page.

Release permissions as a regular user

As a regular user, you can release permissions before the permissions expire. This section describes how to release permissions on a database within the validity period.

  1. Log on to the DMS console V5.0.
    Note To switch to the previous version of the DMS console, click the 5租户头像 icon in the lower-right corner of the page. For more information, see Switch to the previous version of the DMS console.
  2. On the Home page, click the Accessible Assets tab in the lower part of the page.
    Note If you are using the previous version of the DMS console, move the pointer over the More icon in the top navigation bar and choose Permission > Permissions.
  3. Select the database on which you want to release permissions and click Release Permission.
  4. In the Permission Operation dialog box, select one or more types of permissions that you want to release and click OK.

Manage the permissions of a user as a DMS administrator

This section shows you how to grant a user the permissions on a database and revoke these permissions as a DMS administrator.

  1. Log on to the DMS console V5.0.
    Note To switch to the previous version of the DMS console, click the 5租户头像 icon in the lower-right corner of the page. For more information, see Switch to the previous version of the DMS console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click O&M. In the left-side navigation pane, click User.
    Note If you are using the previous version of the DMS console, move the pointer over the More icon in the top navigation bar and choose System > User.
    • To grant permissions, perform the following steps:
      1. Find the user to whom you want to grant permissions, move the pointer over Authorize in the Actions column, and then select Authorize database.
        Note You can also select multiple users at a time, click Authorize user in the upper part of the page, and then select Authorize database.
      2. In the Authorize database dialog box, set the parameters that are described in the following table and click OK. Grant permissions on a database as a DMS administrator

        Authorized Database The database on which you want to grant the specified user permissions.
        Note You can select one or more databases.
        Permission The type of permission that you want to grant. Valid values: Query, Export, and Change.

        Expire Date The date on which the selected permissions expire.
    • To revoke permissions, perform the following steps:
      • Find the user whose permissions you want to revoke, move the pointer over More in the Actions column, and then select Permission Details.
      • In the User Permissions dialog box, select the database on which you want to revoke permissions and click Release Permission.
      • In the Permission Operation dialog box, select one or more types of permissions that you want to revoke and click OK.

Manage permissions on a database as a DBA

This section shows you how to grant a user the permissions on a database and revoke these permissions as a DBA.
Note The operations in this section can also be performed by a DMS administrator.
  1. Log on to the DMS console V5.0.
    Note To switch to the previous version of the DMS console, click the 5租户头像 icon in the lower-right corner of the page. For more information, see Switch to the previous version of the DMS console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click Data Assets. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instance.
    Note If you are using the previous version of the DMS console, move the pointer over the More icon in the top navigation bar and choose System > Instance.
  3. Find the instance where the database you want to manage resides and click Details in the Actions column.
  4. On the Database List tab, find the database that you want to manage, move the pointer over More in the Actions column, and then select Permission Management.
    Note
    • You can grant permissions on multiple databases at a time. On the Database List tab, select multiple databases and click Authorize user in the upper part of the tab.
    • You can revoke permissions on multiple databases at a time. On the Database List tab, select multiple databases and click Recycle Permission in the upper part of the tab.
    To grant permissions, perform the following steps:
    1. In the Permission Management dialog box, click Grant Permissions on Database.

    2. In the Authorize user dialog box, set the parameters that are described in the following table and click OK.

      Add User The user to whom you want to grant permissions on the database.
      Note You can select one or more users.
      Permission The type of permission that you want to grant. Valid values: Query, Export, and Change.

      Expire Date The date on which the selected permissions expire.
    To revoke permissions, perform the following steps:
    1. In the Permission Management dialog box, find the user whose permissions you want to revoke and click Recycle Permission in the Actions column.

      Note To revoke the permissions of multiple users on the database at a time, select multiple users and click Recycle Permission.
    2. In the Permission Operation dialog box, select one or more types of permissions that you want to revoke and click OK.

Manage permissions on a database as a database owner

This section shows you how to grant a user the permissions on a database and revoke these permissions as a database owner. The operations in this section can also be performed by a DMS administrator.

  1. Log on to the DMS console V5.0.
    Note To switch to the previous version of the DMS console, click the 5租户头像 icon in the lower-right corner of the page. For more information, see Switch to the previous version of the DMS console.
  2. On the Home page, click the My Assets tab in the lower part of the page. Select My Databases from the Owner's instance drop-down list.
    Note If you are using the previous version of the DMS console, go to the Workbench tab and click Logical/Physical DB in the Owned Databases/Tables section.
  3. Find the database that you want to manage and click Permission Management in the Actions column.
    To grant permissions, perform the following steps:
    1. On the Permission Management page, click Grant Permissions on Database.
      Note To grant permissions on multiple databases at a time, select multiple databases and click Authorize user.
    2. In the Authorize user dialog box, set the parameters that are described in the following table and click OK.

      Note You can select one or more users.
      Permission The type of permission that you want to grant. Valid values: Query, Export, and Change.
      Note You can select one or more permission types.

    1. On the Permission Management page, find the user whose permissions you want to revoke and click Recycle Permission in the Actions column.
      Note To revoke the permissions of multiple users on the database at a time, select multiple users and click Recycle Permission.
    2. In the Permission Operation dialog box, select one or more types of permissions that you want to revoke and click OK.
