Container Service for Kubernetes:Vertical Pod Autoscaler (VPA)

admission-controller

Etapa 1: Instale o ack-vertical-pod-autoscaler

scale subresource (the pod set is retrieved from the controller's
ScaleStatus) or some well known controllers (e.g. for DaemonSet
the pod set is read from the controller's spec). If VerticalPodAutoscaler
cannot use specified target it will report ConfigUnsupported condition.
Note that VerticalPodAutoscaler does not require full implementation
of scale subresource - it will not use it to modify the replica
count. The only thing retrieved is a label selector matching pods
                  grouped by the target resource.

apiVersion: apps/v1
kind: Deployment
metadata:
  name: nginx-deployment-basic
  labels:
    app: nginx
spec:
  replicas: 2
  selector:
    matchLabels:
      app: nginx
  template:
    metadata:
      labels:
        app: nginx
    spec:
      containers:
      - name: nginx
        image: nginx:1.7.9
        ports:
        - containerPort: 80
kubectl apply -f nginx-deployment-basic.yaml

Modo

Comportamento

Off (recomendado)

apiVersion: autoscaling.k8s.io/v1

    name: nginx-deployment-basic
  updatePolicy:
    updateMode: "Off"
kubectl apply -f nginx-deployment-basic-vpa.yaml

3. Verifique as recomendações.

Execute o comando a seguir.

kubectl describe vpa nginx-deployment-basic-vpa

A saída inclui uma seção Recommendation semelhante a:

Expandir para visualizar a saída esperada

Recommendation:
  Container Recommendations:
    Container Name: nginx
    Lower Bound:
      Cpu: 25m
      Memory: 262144k
    Target:
      Cpu: 25m
      Memory: 262144k
    Uncapped Target:
      Cpu: 25m
      Memory: 262144k
    Upper Bound:
      Cpu: 11601m
      Memory: 12128573170

O Lower Bound é a alocação mínima segura, e o Upper Bound marca o ponto a partir do qual os recursos provavelmente serão desperdiçados.

Etapa 1: Salve a configuração existente do VPA

kubectl get vpa nginx-deployment-basic-vpa -oyaml

O YAML exportado é semelhante a:

Etapa 2: Remova a instalação existente do VPA

# Delete Deployments and Service
kubectl delete deployment vpa-admission-controller vpa-recommender vpa-updater -n kube-system
kubectl delete svc vpa-webhook -n kube-system

# Delete ClusterRoles

# Delete Secret
kubectl delete secret vpa-tls-certs -n kube-system

# Delete CRDs
kubectl delete crd verticalpodautoscalercheckpoints.autoscaling.k8s.io verticalpodautoscalers.autoscaling.k8s.io

Etapa 3: Instale o ack-vertical-pod-autoscaler pelo console

  1. Acesse o console do ACK.

kubectl apply -f nginx-deployment-basic-vpa.yaml
