This topic describes how to associate an elastic IP address (EIP) with a high-availability IP address (HAVIP). After you associate an EIP with an HAVIP, the HAVIP can communicate with the Internet.Elastic IP Address (EIP)
Prerequisites
An HAVIP is created and meets the following requirements:
The HAVIP and the EIP must belong to the same region.
The HAVIP must be in the Available or Allocated state.

Procedure
- Log on to the Elastic IP Address console .
- In the top navigation bar, select the region where the EIP is created.
On the Elastic IP Addresses page, find the EIP that you created and click Associate with Resource in the Actions column.
In the Associate EIP with Resource dialog box, set the following parameters and click OK.

Select HAVIP.
Select an instance to associate.
Select the HAVIP to be associated with the EIP.
NoteAn HAVIP can be associated with only one EIP.
