Alibaba Cloud DevOps:Time tracking settings

Last Updated:Jun 24, 2026

This document describes how to configure work categories, daily work hours, weekly workdays, and special workdays. These settings affect time logging and how your workload is displayed.

Note

Time tracking settings are an exclusive feature of the Advanced Edition. Basic time logging functions are still available in the Basic Edition.

Work category settings

Customize work categories in project collaboration > global settings > work category. You can add new categories or reorder existing ones. When logging time, you can select a work category.

The system provides five default work categories: Design, Development, Testing, Documentation, and Other. You can search for or delete existing categories.

When logging time, you can assign a category by searching for and selecting it from the Work Category drop-down list.

Workday settings

Customize your workdays and non-workdays in project collaboration > global settings > workday to match your organization's schedule. These settings include:

  • Workdays per week: By default, Monday through Friday are workdays, and Saturday and Sunday are non-workdays.

  • Work hours per day: The default is 8 hours.

  • Special workdays and holidays: You can mark specific dates for the year to account for public holidays and corresponding adjusted workdays.

Workday settings affect both time logging and time statistics.

When logging time for a period that includes non-workdays, you will be prompted to specify whether to include those days in the calculation. Including these days indicates that overtime was performed, and the system allocates the logged hours across the non-workdays.

By default, this option is not selected, so the system allocates logged hours only to workdays. In the calendar view of Insights > workload, time blocks appear only in workday columns; non-workday columns are empty.
