Organization management is a key part of project collaboration in Projex, enabling teams to collaborate and manage projects more efficiently. This topic describes the basic settings and associations within an organization.
Basic settings
The global basic settings in Projex include settings for projects, work items, types, and relationships. These settings provide flexible fields, roles, statuses, and types to improve project collaboration and management.
Role permissions
Defining permissions for different roles clarifies each member's responsibilities and the resources they can access. This practice prevents unauthorized operations and protects sensitive information. This setup also helps organize and coordinate teamwork, which improves collaboration and helps keep the project on schedule.
Projex provides two project set roles (administrator and participant) and seven project roles (administrator, product, participant, developer, tester, O&M, and project manager). In the global settings, you can create, edit, configure permissions for, and delete these roles.
To keep roles and permissions consistent across all projects, enable synchronization in project template management. Deleting a role also removes the role and its corresponding members from the projects.

Work item relationships
Relationships between types include parent-child, dependency, and association. You can use automation rules to manage status and field interactions. A parent-child relationship is a one-to-many directed relationship. A dependency is a many-to-many directed relationship. An association is a many-to-many undirected relationship.
Projex lets you customize relationships. Organization administrators can configure relationships between work items as needed. You can edit, create, disable, or delete relationships. Disabling a relationship does not affect existing records, but you cannot create new relationships of that type. When you delete a relationship, you must confirm the action, which also deletes all corresponding records.

Project templates
Projex provides default project templates to help you quickly create and manage projects. Template settings ensure that new projects automatically inherit standardized processes by unifying project fields, role permissions, and project statuses. You can also define detailed project permissions to improve organization management.
Synchronization settings
Use project synchronization and template settings to ensure projects are configured according to a unified standard. For more information, see Project template synchronization settings.
You can enable or disable template synchronization as needed. When enabled, projects created from the template automatically sync with template changes. You cannot change settings inherited from the template within the project.
Specific synchronization settings include project fields, project statuses, automation rules, work item types, work item fields, and work item statuses. Some settings are enabled for synchronization by default and cannot be disabled. Other settings are disabled by default and cannot be enabled.
Project recycle bin
The recycle bin feature in Projex provides a safeguard for data restoration. It prevents the permanent loss of important data from accidental deletion or incorrect operations.
For example, you might accidentally delete an iteration with several key tasks while organizing your project. This iteration could contain all your team's current tasks, such as development, testing, and documentation. Losing this data would severely impact your project schedule and team collaboration.
In this case, you can open the Projex recycle bin to view recently deleted project data. In the recycle bin, you can restore the iteration. The system restores the iteration and all its work items, tasks, and related data to the project. Your team can then continue their work as planned. For more information, see Project recycle bin.
