WUYING Workspace:Overview

Last Updated:Apr 12, 2024

WUYING Workspace (Pro Edition) provides the monitoring and alerting feature to enable an overall monitoring of cloud computer distribution, resource usage, session status, and network conditions. This feature also helps you learn about the health status of your resources and locate and troubleshoot issues at the earliest opportunity. This feature ensures your business continuity.

Feature description

The monitoring dashboard displays metrics related to cloud computers, providing a global view on cloud computer usage, distribution, and health status.

Real-time monitoring provides the real-time data related to end users of WUYING terminals, such as the number of online users, top ten users by online duration, average logon duration, network latency of cloud computers, and fault summaries. You can locate and troubleshoot issues with efficiency based on the real-time data. This effectively prevents unwanted losses that may result from unhealthy resources, network problems, and misoperations.

Alerting works based on metrics. If metrics reach or exceed the specified thresholds during the usage of monitored resources, alerts are triggered to notify you of the emerging issues. This facilitates well-timed adjustment and integration of resources and efficient locating and troubleshooting of issues, which ensures continuous business operations.

Metric

Description

Cloud Computer Statistics and Status

The Cloud Computer Statistics metric displays the total number of exclusive and shared cloud computers. The Status metric displays the total number of cloud computers that are in the Running and Shut down states. You can learn about the total number of your cloud computers from different dimensions by using the metrics.

Resource Usage Overview

The Resource Usage Overview metric displays the overall usage of cloud computer resources such as vCPUs, GPUs, memory size, and storage devices (system disks and data disks).

Connected Sessions

The Connected Sessions metric displays the number of user sessions in different time intervals. For more information about cloud computer sessions, see View monitoring information about sessions.

Sign-in Duration

The Sign-in Duration metric displays the average duration consumed by end users of WUYING terminals to log on to cloud computers and the longest logon duration.

Network Latency Distribution

The Network Latency Distribution metric displays the network latency data and distribution of cloud computers. You can view network latency data in different time intervals.

Top 5 Resource Consumption

The Top 5 Resource Consumption metric displays top five cloud computers in terms of vCPU, GPU, memory size, and storage usage.

For more information about the resource usage, network latency, and inbound or outbound bandwidth of each cloud computer, see View the metric information of cloud computers.

Distribution

The Distribution metric displays the total number of authorized users, total number of WUYING terminals, and total number of regions where cloud computers are available.

Fault Summary

The Fault Summary metric displays the fault details, fault causes, and time when faults occurred on cloud computers.

Scenarios

  • In daily business operations, you can use the monitoring dashboard to learn about the comprehensive conditions of cloud computers in your Alibaba Cloud account. Real-time monitoring provides more detailed metric data and fault warnings, based on which you can understand the cloud computer usage of end users and troubleshoot issues at the earliest opportunity. In addition, alerting helps you gain insight into critical resource usage and identify and resolve issues swiftly upon detection, which enables correct calibration of resource arrangements.

  • During daily business O&M and overall evaluation and optimization processes, you can combine the monitoring dashboard and real-time monitoring to spot and prioritize the most effective channels for optimization endeavors.

O&M monitoring permissions

Permissions determine whether you can or cannot perform an operation on resources based on a specific condition. Permission control helps prevent unnecessary issues or losses. Before you start O&M monitoring, you must have the required permissions as a RAM user. For more information, see Attach a WUYING Workspace system policy to a RAM user.

FAQ

What do I do if an alert rule is configured but no alert is sent to alert contacts?

Specific data on cloud computers is collected by CloudMonitor agent. By default, CloudMonitor agent is disabled in cloud computers. If metrics are missing, perform the following steps to enable CloudMonitor agent:

  1. Press the shortcut keys Win+R on your cloud computer, and enter services.msc in the Run window. Then, press Enter to open the Services window.

  2. In the Services window, find the service named argusagent service, right-click the service, and select Properties.

  3. On the General tab, set the Startup type parameter to Automatic. If the service is not running, click Start in the Service status section and then click OK.
