Elastic Desktop Service:Change cloud computer specifications

Last Updated:Mar 02, 2026

Upgrade or downgrade cloud computer specifications (vCPUs, memory, and GPUs) to match changing workloads. Specification changes affect only computing resources. Storage and user data remain unchanged.

Limitations

RestrictionDetails
Type compatibilityChanges are allowed only within the same cloud computer type. You cannot switch between Office-based and Graphics-based cloud computers.
Bundle-level changesSpecifications are a fixed set of configuration items. All items change at once -- individual items cannot be adjusted separately.
Cooldown periodWait at least 5 minutes between specification changes on the same cloud computer.

Billing rules for specification changes

Monthly subscription (unlimited computing plans)

Upgrades

  • You are charged the price difference between the original and new specifications for the remaining days in the current billing cycle.

  • If you renewed or downgraded a cloud computer during the current billing cycle, upgrades are blocked until the next cycle begins.

Downgrades

  • Each cloud computer can be downgraded up to 3 times per month. The quota resets on the first day of the next month.

  • Refund formula: Refundable amount = Remaining duration x (Price difference / Total duration) "Remaining duration" is the subscription time left before the downgrade. "Price difference" is the cost gap between the original and new specifications. The final refund amount shown on the refund page takes precedence. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Consumed coupons are non-refundable.

To switch from unlimited to hour-limit computing plans, see Switch from unlimited to computing plans with hour limits.

Monthly subscription (120-hour, 250-hour, or 360-hour plans)

Cancel the current plan and place a new order with updated specifications. A refund may apply, but new charges may also be incurred.
