This topic describes how to manage software clients and configure mandatory client upgrades.
Background information
The WUYING software clients in this topic include desktop clients (the Windows client and the macOS client) and mobile clients (the Android client and the iOS client). The features described in this topic require desktop client version 7.8 or later and mobile client version 7.7 or later.
View software client details
After an end user logs on to a WUYING software client using your organization ID, you can view the client's details in the console.
Log on to the Elastic Desktop Service Enterprise console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Desktop & Mobile Clients page, click View Details.

On the Pending Clients page, you can view software client details, such as UUID, Client Type, and Last Logon User.
NoteThe Pending Clients page lists only desktop clients that have logged on to the current organization and have not subsequently logged on to any other organization.
You can manage desktop clients directly from the Unmanaged Clients page. For mobile clients, to prevent accidental management, we recommend that you manage them using an invitation code.
To delete a software client's information, click Delete in the Actions column for the target client. Then, click Confirm in the confirmation dialog box.
Register desktop and mobile clients
WUYING desktop and mobile clients support registration. After a client is registered, it automatically applies the terminal policies specified by the administrator. This gives administrators strong control over registered clients. For example, you can restrict clients to log on only using the current organization ID or hide specific types of logon entries.
Prerequisites
The desktop client version is 7.8 or later, and the mobile client version is 7.7 or later.
You can create custom terminal groups and attach custom policies to manage terminal behavior and experience. A default root group and policy are provided. If you want to use custom groups and policies, you must create them first. For more information, see Manage terminal groups and policies.
Procedure
You can register clients in one of the following ways.
Use an invitation code
Log on to the Elastic Desktop Service Enterprise console.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Terminal and then choose Terminal Grouping & Policy.
On the Terminal Group tab, click the ⋮ icon to the right of the target group and choose Generate Invitation Code.
In the Generate Invitation Code dialog box, select or set the validity period for the invitation code and click Generate Invitation Code.
In the Invitation Code dialog box, view the auto-generated 6-digit invitation code and provide it to your end users.
Ask the end user to perform the following operations:
On the desktop client:
Open the Settings window. On the interface, click Register.
In the Enter the Invitation Code dialog box, enter the 6-digit invitation code and click Next.
In the Your administrator invites you to join the client control dialog box, click Accept.
On the mobile client:
In the WUYING Workspace app, tap . On the interface, tap Terminal Registration.
In the Enter the Invitation Code dialog box, enter the 6-digit invitation code and tap Yes.
In the Registration Invitation dialog box, tap Accept.
Register from the registration page
Currently, you can register only desktop clients from the registration page.
Log on to the Elastic Desktop Service Enterprise console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Desktop & Mobile Clients page, click View.
On the Pending Clients page, click Import and Manage in the Actions column for the target software client. In the dialog box that appears, confirm the information and click Confirm.
Select a Home Group for the target software client and click Confirm.
Manually enter the UUIDs of desktop and mobile clients
Log on to the Elastic Desktop Service Enterprise console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
You can obtain the UUID in one of the following ways:
On the Clients To Be Registered page, copy the UUID of the target client.
Ask the end user to open the About window on the desktop client and provide you with the Unique Device Identifier (UUID) displayed at the bottom of the window.
On the Desktop & Mobile Clients page, click Add Desktop Client.
In the Add Client panel, add the required information for the desktop and mobile clients.
Add a single client
Click the Manually Add tab.
Enter the required information, such as the client UUID, client alias, and client group, and then click OK.
Add multiple clients
Click the Import Clients tab.
You can prepare the client information file in one of the following ways.
Click Download Template. Open the downloaded template, enter the client information in the specified format, and save the file.
Use a workbook application to enter the client information and save the file in CSV format.
NoteWhen you enter the client information, ensure that the first column is Client UUID, the second column is Group ID, and the third column is Client Alias. The first two columns are required. The third column is optional.
Click Upload File and select the CSV file that contains the client information.
The system automatically imports the client information from the file. After the import is complete, you can view the import status for each client. If the import fails, check whether the client information in the file is in the correct format.
After the import is complete, you can view the client information on the Desktop & Mobile Clients page.
After a client is successfully registered, it is added to the list on the Desktop & Mobile Clients page. A registered client allows only accounts under the current organization ID to log on and automatically applies the policies attached to its group.
Common operations
After a client is registered, you can perform the following operations on mobile and desktop clients:
Search for clients using the following criteria (fuzzy search is supported):
Client UUID
Client alias
IP
Last logged-on user
Set a client alias: You can set a client alias using one of the following methods:
In the Terminal Alias column for the target client, click the icon, enter a custom name, and click OK.
In the client list, click the UUID of the target client. Then, on the client details page, edit the client alias.
Export client information:
Select the target clients and click the icon in the upper-right corner of the list. The exported workbook contains the details of the selected clients.
Move a client to a different group:
To move a client to another group, click Move in the Actions column for the target client. In the dialog box that appears, select a new group.
Unregister a client:
To unregister a client, click Cancel Management in the Actions column for the target client. In the dialog box that appears, click Confirm.
ImportantThis operation takes effect after the client connects to the network. After a client is unregistered, the client is forced to restart. This may disrupt the end user's work. Perform this operation with caution.
Password-free logon
Click Configure Password-Free Logon in the Actions column for the target client, select the target users, and click Confirm.
NoteAfter password-free logon is set, the mobile client can be logged on to directly without a password. The logoff button is hidden on the client. The user can log off only after an administrator disables password-free logon.
Currently, password-free logon is supported only on Android clients.
Configure mandatory software client upgrades
For desktop clients and Android clients, you can enable the mandatory client upgrade feature to ensure that end users' software clients are always up to date. This ensures that end users can use all features of their cloud computers and that their data is secure. After you enable this feature, WUYING Workspace pushes mandatory upgrade tasks to all desktop clients and Android clients under your Alibaba Cloud account. When end users log on to a client, they must upgrade the client before they can proceed.
Log on to the Elastic Desktop Service Enterprise console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the upper-right corner of the page, click Configure Terminal Update.
On the Software Clients tab of the Terminal Upgrade page, turn on or turn off the Forcible Update switch as needed.
What to do next
If you want to allow end users to log on only from specified software clients, you can add logon-restricted clients for users. For more information, see Add logon-restricted clients for a convenience account.
