How to terminate the WAF service - Web Application Firewall

If you no longer need your Web Application Firewall (WAF) instance, you can terminate the service.

Background

You can terminate the WAF service in the following scenarios:

You no longer need your pay-as-you-go WAF instance.
Your subscription WAF instance has expired and you no longer need it.
You want to change the billing method of the WAF instance from pay-as-you-go to subscription.
You want to change the billing method of the WAF instance from subscription to pay-as-you-go, and the current instance has expired.

Warning

Before you terminate the WAF service, ensure the DNS record for each domain name added to WAF points back to the origin server. For more information about how to modify a DNS record, see Modify a DNS record.
After you terminate the WAF service, all configuration information for your domain names is deleted. If requests are still routed to the WAF instance, they are not forwarded to the origin server, and your domain names become inaccessible.

To terminate a subscription WAF instance: The instance has expired.
To terminate a pay-as-you-go WAF instance: The instance has received few or no requests within the last two days.

Log on to the Web Application Firewall 3.0 console. From the top menu bar, select the resource group and region (Chinese Mainland or Outside Chinese Mainland) for the WAF instance.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Overview. If your instance has no protected objects, the welcome page appears. Click Go to Console to find the Terminate WAF Service button.
On the Overview page, in the instance information card in the upper-right corner, click Terminate WAF Service.
Note
For a subscription WAF instance, this button appears only after the instance expires.
Confirm that you have updated the DNS records for your configured domain names to point to the origin server. Then, click OK to terminate the WAF service.
