You can view quotas, request increases, and set up alarms to preset thresholds for quota usage or remaining amounts in Quota Center or the virtual private cloud (VPC) console.
Background
Quota Center lets you centrally manage the quotas of Alibaba Cloud services, including VPC quotas. If you are using multiple services and want to manage the quotas of these services in one console, use Quota Center.
You can also manage VPC quotas using the quota management feature in the VPC console.
Prerequisite
By default, only Alibaba Cloud accounts are authorized to manage quotas in Quota Center. For RAM users to manage quotas, you must grant RAM users the AliyunQuotasFullAccess permission.
View quotas
View the VPC quotas by using one of the following methods:
On the Quota Management page, view the quota items and usage.
View quotas in the VPC console.
Procedure (VPC console)
Log on to the VPC console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Quota Management page, click the VPC tab in the Service section. In the Quota Type section, select the type of quota that you want to view.
General quota
In the Quota Type section, select General Quota.
Use keyword to search for quotas and view the quota names, descriptions, and usage.
API rate limit
In the Quota Type section, select API Rate Limit.
Select a region and search by keyword for the version and rate limit of the API.
Privilege
In the Quota Type section, select Privilege.
Enter a quota ID to search for privileges and view their names and descriptions.
Adjust quotas
If the default quota does not meet your business needs, apply for a quota increase by using one of the following methods:
Go to the Quota Center console and request a quota increase.
Go to the VPC console and request an increase.
The quota items and adjustment results are consistent between Quota Center and the VPC console.
Procedure (VPC console)
Log on to the VPC console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Quota Management page, click the VPC tab in the Service section. In the Quota Type section, select the type of quota that you want to adjust.
Adjust general quotas.
In the Quota Type section, click the General Quota tab. Find the general quota that you want to increase and click Apply in the Actions column.
In the Apply for Quotas dialog box, select the Applied Quotas, enter a Reason, and click OK.
NoteApplications are approved by the technical support team of each cloud service. To improve approval chances, specify an appropriate quota value and provide a reason.
Application results are sent to you by text message and email.
Alibaba Cloud reviews your application based on the information provided in the application and rejects or approves the application.
To view the status of the application, click Application Records or choose
in the Actions column.If the application is in the Approved state, the quota is increased.
Apply for privileges.
In the Quota Type section, select Privilege.
Find the privilege that you want to apply and click Apply in the Actions column.
In the Apply for Privileges dialog box, specify the Quota Value, Time, Reason, and Notify Result parameters, and click OK.
To view the status of the application, click Application Records in the Actions column. If the application is in the Approved state, the privilege is acquired.
Create an alarm rule
You can create alarm rules for some quota items by specifying a threshold for usage or available quota. When the specified threshold is reached, the system sends an alarm notification to the callback URL through an HTTP POST request. Apply for a quota increase to avoid unintended business interruptions.
Choose one of the following methods:
Use the Quota Center console and create an alarm rule.
Use the VPC console.
You can create alarm rules for the following quota items:
Name: vpc_quota_secondary_cidr_num. Description: Maximum number of secondary IPv4 CIDR blocks for each VPC.
Name: vpc_privilege_allow_buy_havip_instance. Description: The privilege to purchase HaVips.
Procedure (VPC console)
Log on to the VPC console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Quota Management page, choose . Find the quota that you want to manage and click Create Alarm Rule in the Actions column.
In the Create Quota Alarm Rule panel, configure the parameters and click Confirm.
Basic Information: Enter the name of the alarm.
Alarm Object: Quota details.
Alarm Rule:
Alarm Metric: Choose a metric from among quota, quota usage, percentage of used quotas, and percentage of available quotas.
Threshold and Alarm Level: Choose a level from among critical, warn, and info. Each level has a different notification method.
Notification Type: When the alarm is triggered, CloudMonitor sends a notification to your specified URL.
Create a quota template
When a quota template is added and Enabled, the system automatically applies the template to the new members of resource directory. Existing members are not affected. You can use a template to apply for increases on multiple quotas at a time, improving the efficiency of quota management across your organization.
Prerequisites:
An enterprise management account is used.
Resource directory and the quota template feature are enabled.
Add a quota template by using one of the following methods:
Use the Quota Center console to add a quota template.
Use the VPC console.
Procedure (VPC console)
Log on to the VPC console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Quota Management page, click the VPC tab in the Service section. In the Quota Type section, select the type of quota that you want to manage.
Add a general quota
Click General Quota in the Quota Type section, find the one to which you want to add to a quota template and click Create Quota Template in the Actions column.
In the Create Quota Template dialog box, set the Applied Quotas parameter and click Notify Result.
Add a privilege
Click Privilege in the Quota Type section, find the target privilege and click Create Quota Template in the Actions column.
In the Create Privilege Template dialog box, set the Quota Value, Time, and Notify Result parameters.
