FAQ
Charges not covered by a savings plan
Charges on your bill may not be covered by a savings plan for the following reasons:
Ineligible charges: Savings plans do not cover fees for snapshots, Internet traffic, or disk capacity (except for specific plans). A general-purpose savings plan only covers computing capacity costs for ECS and ECI.
Exceeding the commitment: Any usage beyond your savings plan's committed spending is billed at pay-as-you-go rates.
Overdue payments: Deductions for No Upfront and Partial Upfront savings plans are paused if your account has an overdue payment.
Why is the deduction amount small?
A savings plan's committed spending, not its upfront payment, determines its deduction capacity. Committed spending is the amount you commit to spend per hour.
For example, consider a savings plan with a committed spending of CNY 0.1 per hour that offers a rate at 40% of the pay-as-you-go price. Your hourly commitment covers pay-as-you-go usage with a list price value of: CNY 0.1 / 40% = CNY 0.25. The maximum daily usage covered, at list price, is: CNY 0.25 × 24 = CNY 6.
Before you purchase, use the savings plan calculator to select an appropriate committed spending amount based on your actual usage.
Can a savings plan be extended?
No. A savings plan automatically expires at the end of its term and cannot be extended. To continue using the benefits, you must purchase a new savings plan before your current one expires.
