Certificate Management Service:Manage hosted deployment tasks for cloud services

Last Updated:Aug 06, 2025

When you enable certificate hosting, the system inherits the deployment settings from your original certificate, automatically creates and starts tasks to deploy future renewal certificates. This topic describes how to view, stop, and delete these hosted deployment tasks.

How deployment tasks are created

Alibaba Cloud creates hosted deployment tasks based on the number of certificates associated with the hosted certificate. For example, if you set the Validity Period (Years) parameter to 2 when you create a certificate, Alibaba Cloud generates one associated certificate for the certificate and automatically creates one hosted deployment task. The following figure shows an example.

Prerequisites

Hosting is enabled for your certificate. For more information, see Enable hosting for a certificate.

View basic information about a hosted deployment task

A hosted deployment task inherits its settings from the original certificate's deployment configuration. If you change where the original certificate is deployed, the scope of this task is updated automatically.

  1. Log on to the Certificate Management Service console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Deployment and Resource Management > Hosted Deployment for Cloud Services.

  3. On the Hosted Deployment for Cloud Services page, find the hosted deployment task that you want to manage and click Details in the Actions column. On the page that appears, view the following information about the task: task instance ID, contact, certificate resource ID, and certificate type.

Stop a hosted deployment task

After you enable hosting for a certificate, Alibaba Cloud automatically creates and starts hosted deployment tasks for the certificate. You can perform the following steps to stop a hosted deployment task.

Warning

After you stop a hosted deployment task, the system will not automatically deploy the renewal certificate to your cloud services when it is issued.

You can use one of the following methods to stop a hosted deployment task:

Hosted Deployment for Cloud Services page

  1. Log on to the Certificate Management Service console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Deployment and Resource Management > Hosted Deployment for Cloud Services.

  3. On the Hosted Deployment for Cloud Services page, find the hosted deployment task that you want to manage and click Stop Task in the Actions column.

SSL Certificate Management page

  1. Log on to the Certificate Management Service console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Certificate Management > SSL Certificate Management.

  3. Click the required certificate tab. Then, find the hosted deployment task that you want to manage and click Stop Hosted Deployment Task in the Actions column.

Delete a hosted deployment task

Warning

After you delete a hosted deployment task, it cannot be restored. Proceed with caution.

After you cancel hosting for a certificate, the hosted deployment tasks related to the certificate are automatically deleted. To manually delete a hosted deployment task, select the task in the task list and click Delete below the task list.
