After you enable certificate hosting, the system automatically applies for a new certificate or deploys a new hosted certificate before the hosted certificate expires. This topic describes how to enable hosting for a certificate.
Overview
How hosting is enabled depends on the certificate type. Some certificates are hosted automatically upon creation or issuance; others require manual enablement.

Enable automatic hosting
SSL Certificate Management V2.0
To enable hosting for certificates in SSL Certificate Management V2.0:
Log on to the Certificate Management Service console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Certificate Management > SSL Certificate Management V2.0. Then, click the Commercial Certificates tab.
Find the target certificate and click Enable Auto-Management in the Actions column.
SSL Certificate Management (V1.0 - Discontinued)
For certificates in SSL Certificate Management (V1.0 - Discontinued), hosting is automatically enabled when you create the certificate. For more information, see Create a certificate.
Certificate hosting status
SSL Certificate Management V2.0
To view hosting status for certificates in SSL Certificate Management V2.0:
Log on to the Certificate Management Service console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Certificate Management > SSL Certificate Management V2.0.
Click the tab that corresponds to your certificate type: Commercial Certificates or Uploaded Certificates.
Find the target certificate and check the Validity Period column. If the Auto-Managed tag is displayed, certificate hosting is enabled.
SSL Certificate Management (V1.0 - Discontinued)
To view hosting status for certificates in SSL Certificate Management (V1.0 - Discontinued):
Log on to the Certificate Management Service console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Certificate Management > SSL Certificate Management (V1.0 - Discontinued).
Click the Commercial Certificates tab.
Find the target certificate and check the Status column. A status of Hosted indicates that certificate hosting is enabled.
FAQ
Is automatic certificate hosting the same as auto-renewal?
Automatic certificate hosting and auto-renewal are two different features. Automatic hosting automatically applies for a new certificate and deploys it before the hosted certificate expires, provided that specific conditions are met. Auto-renewal automatically purchases the certificate service to extend the service expiration time if your account balance is sufficient.
