Troubleshooting process
Procedure
Log on to the Simple Log Service console.
-
In the Project list, click the Project that contains your alert rule.
-
In the left-side navigation pane, click Alerts. On the Alert Center page, go to the Alert Rules tab and click the target alert rule.
The Security Inspection Discovered High-Risk Configuration alert rule is used as an example.
-
In the Alert History section at the bottom of the page, check the alert's trigger status.
Alert triggered
Skip to Step 5. This status means the evaluation cycle completed successfully, but does not confirm whether the trigger condition was met, an alert was generated, or a notification was sent.
Alert not triggered
View the Cause of the alert and troubleshoot the issue by consulting Alert Monitoring Error Codes.
-
View the Alert History Statistics dashboard. In the Alert History section at the bottom of the page, check the Notification Sending Status column.
On the alert overview page, in the Basic Information section, click the Alert History Statistics link for the Associated dashboard field to go to the dashboard page.
Sent successfully
A Success status means the alert was sent from the monitoring system to the alert management system, but does not guarantee that the notification reached the recipient. Proceed to Step 6.
Failed to send
The alert monitoring system failed to send the alert to the alert management system. In this case, submit a ticket to contact Simple Log Service technical support.
-
Check the Alert Troubleshooting Center dashboard for failures.
-
In the left-side navigation pane, click Alerts, and then choose .
-
Check the Configuration Error and Notification Error counts.
-
If the Configuration Error or Notification Error count is greater than 0, a failure occurred. View the Invalid Configuration and Notification Error charts at the bottom of the page and refer to Alert Notification Error Codes to troubleshoot the issue.
-
If there are no global configuration errors or notification channel errors, submit a ticket to contact Simple Log Service technical support.
